I was taling to a coworker the other day about all the upcoming movies and I realized that 2003 is truly the year for the SciFi/Fantasy Comicbook geek.
Daredevil
Bulletproof Monk
X2: X-Men United
The Matrix Reloaded
The Hulk
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Freddy vs. Jason
The Matrix Revolutions
Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
Just to name a few.

On a morning from a Ang Lee movie
In a laboratory where they alter your genes
You can tell all the people that you gave them fair warning
but now you’re pissed off and turning quite green
He’ll sharpen his claws on your furniture
She’s got eyes like Caine’s Mater Po
and you can’t help but think that at any minute
that bald guy will say “Make it so.”
In the year of the geek
He doesn't give you time for questions
because we’re one of his biggest pet peeves
Who could blame Agent Smith for hating the humans,
particularly Keanu Reeves?
By the red spandex tights that he’s wearing,
you can tell he’s a man without fear
I wasn’t sure how I’d work in a Daredevil reference
I think I’d better stop right here.
In the year of the geek
Hey, what's the chicken wire for?

A "culture" is what they take at the doctors office when you have strep throat.
Open your mouth up wide, I am just going to use this huge Q-tip to take a little strep culture /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

Sorry, my joke failed. It was suposed to be a play on Year of the Cat, by Al Stewart. You know, the guy who sings like he's Roddy McDowall? Anyone? No? Okay. Onward and upward.

You should take The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Bulletproof Monk off that list of movies. Any Geek that likes those two movies is giving Geeks a bad name. Granted that Sean Connery and Chow Yun-Fat are good leading actors. But those two movies are just plain crap.

Have you seen The League of Extraordinary Gentleman? I thought the release date was in July.

Judge not a movie untill you have seen it. Unless Reese Witherspoon is in it then you may go ahead and mock.
2003 year of the geek. 2004 Looks like it's going to be Year of the nothing. No more Lord of the Rings. X-men wont be out until 05. Star Wars is 05 as well right? Maybe Indiana Jones but hopefully it will be a real sequal and not some slapped together sh*t like Analiyize That or there. I heard maybe a sequel to Meet the Parents might be made intime for 04 release. I'm not looking forward tot he Alamo or Any stupid Troy movies. Kung Pow 2 will come out though! and Maybe a Spong Bob movie (It would be great if it was a musical. YOu KNOW it would)
As far as anything new being made? I guess 04 or 05 will be the years to set up new franchise's. But 2003 will always be the year of the Geek. The next couple of years are going to be the Year of Sequel or the Year of the nerd(which isnt as cool as the year of the geek)
