View Full Version : How was everyone's weekend? (+ Paranoia.)

I'm just bored so I thought I would drop a line and ask how everyone's weekend went? Anything new or exciting happen?
On friday I played a little texas holdem' poker with a few friends of mine. I didn't do so well, and got kicked out pretty early on in the tournament. On saturday, I finally went to see Kill Bill: Volume 2 and loved it. Today, I'm just lounging around.
Ok...as you can see from the title of my subject, I included the word 'Paranoia.' This is going to sound a little ridiculous, but is anyone else having this weird anxiety attack about thirteen year olds coming on here? I understand that I'm only sixteen, but for the most part I would declare myself a somewhat intelligent person. I love being able to come on here and chat with adults that will not judge one for his/her age, but strictly on what they have to say. Does anyone else feel like the kids that come on here and talk about their lives and whatnot is infringing upon what you love about this board? Maybe I am being too paranoid, but what is everyone else's input on this? Feel free to bash if you think I'm sounding dumb. Whatever.

My friend, I have no idea what age anyone is on this board. I wandered in here because I liked the level of discourse here. It was the first board that interested me that wasnt all ROTFLMAO and that crap. So yes, I am afraid, because I don't want my hangout overrun by the ignorant. But I wll stay the course for a while, for the silly ones will either get bored or banned. Thank god for the power of the BANSTICK!

Friday night I saw this band of really cool , hot, luscious, jamming women called Experimental Aircraft (http://experimentalaircraft.com/electrictopFrame.html). Though nothing compares to live performance ( for reasons obvious). I highly recommend them.
No, you don't sound paranoid or dumb we were under invasion from immature prepubescent 'tards.
Thankfully , mercifully, Admin. put an end to the mouthiest one, and I think it's safe to go back to our regularly scheduled games of grab-ass and leg-humping.
Mine was good for the most part.
Went out to the range on Sat. and put two-hundred rounds of 9mm through My S&W, then tried out My new Shotgun with fifty shells of 12 GA. buckshot. My shoulder is a little sore, but it's a good type of sore. Was a good session.
Today, I did work around the house and washed the cars.
Ho-hum.
This friday is payday though. Yeeee-haw! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

hmmm . . . odd. I never knew you were 16. I always thought you were around 20. I just got done saying I was the only coherent teenager on this board, I guess I take that back. Anyway. My weekend was good. Turned in 4 applications, hung out with my friends and watched movies. Proved everyone wrong once again about my taste in movies. They never get the movies I like because they say I have bad taste, so I actually had some money, and I rented The Untouchables, the ones here saw it, and loved it.
I don't know why they don't trust my taste in movies, that was only the 2nd time we watched a movie that I picked. The first time was Donnie Darko. I was right about that one too. I don't count Reservior Dogs, because I suggested it for months, then the day I gave up suggesting it, we got it.
*cough* anyway. What else did I do . . . oh yeah. Josh stayed the night in our basement again, and I fell asleep on the couch with him. It was near disasterous. I would have been caught if I would have woken up a minute later. No one cares, but I just thought I'd say how my weekend went.
And about the 13 year olds over running the board. Yeah, scary. Very scary.

Weekend was okay, went out saturday to watch 50 first dates, very tried and tested sandler formula but it worked just enough and the ending took me by surprise since it wasn't a usual bumb on the noggin resoution. But overall, it was just 'mhn' nothing special.
Yesterday watched the butterfly effect on bootleg with a friend and took me by surprise, I liked it alot. it felt like a cocktail of identity and donnie darko. but I won't bother elaborating, since these are old films by your standards.

My weekend was awesome. I went to the headbangers ball tour in Jacksonville florida. It was a really good show. I saw Hatebreed, Drowning pool, damage plan, and Unearthed. Plus some local shitty bands, ohh and Avenged Sevenfold. It was [censored] brutal. A great time. Good way to kick off the summer concerts of 2004 for me.

I went to work, went home, woke up again, and went to work. Oh, I also watched a movie one night. Cube 2: Hypercube. Not as smart as the original, but it's still pretty entertaining. Makes me wish that more Canadian films would be distributed below the border.
As for these younger newbs, its not like they come in giant hordes and overpower us. They come in one by one and we pick them off like well-trained snipers. Actually, I was suprised when I started finding out the age of the regulars around here, a suprising number are out of their 'teens. I turn 20 in one week, so that'll include me soon.

All the names I like a kid would probably get his ass kicked for.
Example: Puck, Binks, Samson, Rupert, and Stanley.

I went to pick up a friend from the airport this weekend. Listened to some kick ass shit on DVD... They had the Allmand Brothers on it, Incubus and some Zeppy. It was a pretty smooth little DVD. I enjoyed it.
Other than that I just worked my ass off.

You're only 16? I forget about that...you come off like someone older in that your posts are actually smart and well-composed. Nice to see after the recent influx of 16-year-old buffoons.
I wouldn't worry too much about any 13-year-olds (or people of other ages, either) coming here and wrecking the place. They might get a few hours of mayhem before I see them or before someone drops me a line about them (feel free to drop me a line about anyone who's acting up) but then they'll be gone.
As for the weekend, I finally saw Kill Bill 2, too, finally. LOVED it. Put those two parts together and...man, that was one of the most enjoyable movies I've seen in ten years or more. Man, did I love both parts.
I also saw Trainwreck, a Tenacious D "side project," play at the Viper Room, and went for a hike. Nice to be back home.

I too got to see Kill Bill Vol 2 over the weekend. I was really impressed (although I probably liked the first installment a bit more). I loved that goldfish story! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
ps geez a few days off and this place turns into a day-care facility. Whats wrong with kids today!!

Does this mean I have to actually start proof-reading my posts. While im at work, I may have like 2-3 mins to come up with a post concept. Write it down and get it out before I have to get back to actual work. So I apologize if the spelling and grammar on my posts are terrible. Plus ill admit that even if I did take my time, my grammar is atrocious. You dont have to be an ass about it.
Razorback
04-27-2004, 08:43 AM
I can deal with some bad grammar as long as the spelling is mostly correct. However, I cannot let it go when you don't spend the two seconds it takes to capitalize "I" and/or spelling "ill" when you mean "I will."

You know, you always need to be very mindfull of how you name your child. Especially in the ass kicking department. However, you also need a name that sounds good when you are mad. Each one should start with a hard sounding consonat (i.e. k, m, g, etc). This way, when you are mad and call them by their full name, it really sounds like you are mad and you don't really have to raise your voice.
Oh, and be mindful of their initials too. When my daughter was born, we agreed on the middle name and of course the last name, but I flatly refused to agree on the first name with my then wife. If I had agreed, my daughter's initials would have been PMS. No way am I letting my daughter go through life being teased about being on PMS all of the time. Yeah, I won the argument on the first name issue.

Very good suggestion RATM. My fathers intials were GAG and my mothers are NAG. He was especially mindful when naming me. The actually switched my middle name to an 'E' So I would not have been SAG.

Hell jes, you wouldn't want to be mistaken for that damn actors union.

Oh yes, there is that union, but I thought she was thinking more along the lines of people thinking SAG was in reference to breastesses.
