Jersey Girl as a Sitcom?

Interesting concept. This would be a obvious choice for a sitcom, it has all the needed plot points. Still, I am not sure it would work without some very witty writers behind it. It has been rare that a movie becomes a good TV series. (Buffy being the only exception I can think of)
