<font color="purple">Why is that? Because she has boobs? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif</font color>

Man, if that were true I would be getting a massage right now from some black haired rocker. But alas, it must not be enough. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
I watched the bit with Jessica and Jewel singing "Who Will Save Your Soul". It is amusing to watch an high maintainance ditz trying to affect hippy consciousness. I wanted to pat her on the ass and tell her to ditch the pregant lady dress. She does have a good voice, but I just can't stomach too much.

<font color="purple">Ew, that performance was just yuck. I don't dig the newlyweds show nor do I dig her overexposure. Its just woah..
And Jewel in my opinion sold out with her new album...and it prove it even more so with her apperance on this show.</font color>

I can't say much about Jewel's new album, because I didn't hear it past the single where she was doing the pop thing.
Jessica is overexposed, but she has a very limited window of opportunity to make money. The public will only enjoy the fad for a short time. Eventually her dumb routine will wear on their nerves like a tight rolled jean and hypercolor.
It is much like the idea that dating a dull but hot guy will make for a long-term love affair. Eventually we all start lusting after our slightly disheveled co-workers with the kick-ass CD collections, and begin forgetting to call Armani Exchange looking for our dull boys.

and dear God with all the money that chick Jewel has, ya think she could get the teeth fixed...
like they say you can take the girl out of the 'VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER" but you can't....you get the idea.

<font color="purple">A friend of mine told me that Jessica knows what she is doing by acting stupid. I said, I highly doubt it. I've seen interviews with her before she hit it big with the newlywed show..I am just not getting the idea she has all the marbles in the right places.
My friend also said Marilyn Monroe did the same thing. Actually she didn't. She knew how to use her sexuality to get far and she actually had some talent (so does Jessica, however she didn't over use it). The thing with Marilyn Monroe was she came from nothing and became popular and then she was killed sort of in the latter staged of her prime (*cough* thanks to JFK *cough). Ok, enough about her.</font color>

<font color="purple">Oh, sort of like Britney Spears?
And and Sir, you know I think Jewel looks fine (bad teeth or not). She is keeping it real by not letting peer pressure and execs change who she really is. Its like Babs and her nose/breast issues back when she was acting.</font color>

[/ QUOTE ] Holy Crapazoid Smurfy! I think we are sharing a brain tonight. I am now cross-referencing your post to the one I just posted in the "Who is the Hottest" thread... /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Actually, you are right, other than the teeth issue..she's smokin! Love the "I'm a sexy bitch and you know it" looks she gives...yum.

<font color="purple">No, its more like the 'I sold out to be like Britney Spears, I didn't keep it real, I wrote a book of poems that didn't make sense and now my cd went straight to the toilet' look.</font color>

Well... If Jessica Simpson really is an idiot, then she IS keeping it real.
Maybe Jewel can be in the next "When keeping it real goes wrong".
In the end, I like both JS and Jewel. I'd give em both the Sears catalog lingere section treatment.

That's too bad because it seems that you missed the point of that song. It was a sniper shot directly at the eye of pop. Just listen to the words and watch the images in the video. Anyway, every single ounce of her last album is genius.

I may give it a listen. It wasn't an active decision to ignore it because I was angry at her pop switch. I just thought the song very forgettable.
The only artist who did take a pop style turn that bothers me is Liz Phair.

I will not stand for this hypercolor bashing young lady. If I could get my hands on a hypercolor shirt again, I would be the bomb...and I will not stand for any "the bomb" bashing either.

Ha! Sadly, this is my second reference to hypercolor t-shirts this week. A guy at work tripped over a box and fell right into the front of me. I made a comment that it was a good thing I was not wearing hypercolor on my shirt, or the imprint of what he used to catch himself with would have been evidence for a firing. /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

Liz Phair's decent into Pop was very disapointing, I thought the same for Jewel (she is already pop I thought she just went more-so, I will give that song a listen). As for remakes like JS's I can only think of a handful that I like:
Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers
All along the watchtower - Hendrix
Bobby Magie - Joplin
Landslide - Smashing pumpkins
Wide world - Me first and the gimmie gimmie's
There may be more but the bottom line is that pop star's remaking any old song just plain sucks. JS is not the worst of the lot, Exhibit B: 'Feel like making love - Kid rock' Exhibit C: 'Landslide - Dixie chicks' and Exhibit D: 'Behind Blue Eye's - Limp Biskit' give me a freaking break.
