View Full Version : Lakers Lose

Do basketball games get any better than when the Lakers lose? I am sure that this will piss Chris off, but I find watching basketball boring...Unless it is a game that the Lakers are losing. Then I find it strangely compelling.

well, i for one was hoping the lakers would win. not because i have any special love for the lakers, but because i hate all the teams from texas. oh, and i like college basketball but the NBA bores me unless it is the playoffs. then it's only fun to watch about half the time.

Women's basketball now THAT is worth watching. I'm British by the way so basketball is, well, Netball to us which is played by women so I think there is my reason for liking WNBA.

"Do basketball games get any better than when the Lakers lose?"
You must have been one of the refs in last night's game...wow, that was some bad officiating, almost as bad as the previous series, just in the wrong team's favor.

A Lakers fan is complaining about bad officiating? That's irony. Did you watch any of the Minnesota series? It's bad when Bill Walton is telling Shaq to pick a pivot foot. And you know it's really bad when Stern apologizes about the bad officiating.
I tell you, it must take incredible acting ability to be a Lakers fan and pretend that the playoffs aren't handed to them. That's why you get the likes of Nicholson and Dicaprio in the audience. And now Ryall too.

"it must take incredible acting ability to be a Lakers fan and pretend that the playoffs aren't handed to them."
Ah, the siren song of the sore loser.
Yeah, because everyone knows Shaq and Kobe aren't really that good or anything, it's all in the officiating.
Riiight.

Wow, man, you have maybe some anger issues with the Lakers that you should work out...if you read my post, I said last night's officiating was as bad as the previous series, just for the wrong team (the overt implication here was that the bad officiating in the last series helped the Lakers). I admit it's been bad, but on both sides -- the Timberwolves got handed a game or two from bad calls, too.

Bad calls alone don't win or lose games, man.

You give me too much credit--my seats are much worse than theirs.

ahh, Jesus. I should have figured that this is the first time anyone pays attention to something I write; when I'm anything less than brilliant.
You want to talk about anger issues? I'm tired of being the neglected middle child on this board. It's always Razorback, Razorback, Razorback regardless of what shit he posts. Meanwhile, the only attention I can get is when I comment on a sport? Nothing for the amazing ego-centric movie thesis. No, we want to comment on sports and politics on Moviepoopshoot.
I get less feedback than some [censored]' newbie that is begging for Jay and Silent Bob to be in Jersey Girl, and have lost all of their grammar skills as soon as they've logged onto the internet. And I was here since the beginning of the first message board.
Or maybe the problem is mine because I'm looking for validation on a web site. Or maybe it's only child syndrome rearing it's ugly head.
I'm not bitter.

You make some very good points and I think that...
...hey, Razorback's been pretty quiet today, huh? Hmm.
Wait, what were you saying? Something about "Lakers in 6" or whatever, I think. I kinda tuned you out--as one middle child to another, I'm not used to getting OR giving attention.

I never really liked to watch sports. Being a spectator is always boring. I would rather prefer to go play basketball myself than watch others play. So I really don't care for the Lakers or any other team.

I think the plight of us middle children should be brought to the attention of someone important..... hold on that would be Razorback and he doesn't care. Dammit

As a girly only child, I want to be told how nice I look today (strike that - EVERYDAY). I want all the men to dance for my own amusement.
I also want everyone to stop using MY board because today I am not in the mood to share. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

[/ QUOTE ] Sorry about that, I will swing some calls the other way in tonight's game. Are there worse professional refs than NBA refs? They are way worse than even those guys that botched the Giants-Niners playoff game. How is it possible for somebody to run with the ball in their hand from the 3-point line to the rim for a dunk and travelling not be called? My biggest complaint with the NBA officials/rules: a guy will take the ball in the lane for a dunk and the defender will end up on the ground but no foul is called. How is this possible? Somebody ends up on the ground, it has to be a foul, be it offensive or defensive.

Hey Zen have I told you how beautiful you look today? Your eyes are like two pools of irresistable radiance. You lips are full and succulent and yr skin as soft as silk. Your beauty only reinforces man's desire for women . Is that enough for you today????

I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Gosh, she swooned faster than usual and I didn't have to lift a finger this time. I must be good. And what's even more a tribute to me, first thing she did this morning was post on how I make her swoon. That's love, guys. Maybe I should call her today.

No, no, no. You guys are missing the point of the topic. The Lakers lost again last night. Man, with Shaq and Kobe on the bench, they may be the worst team in basketball. They looked horrible during the fourth quarter.

Oh quit being bitter! You have to face it...your Lakers thread has been hijacked.
If you keep getting upset, I will be forced to call your Uncle Dave and have a discussion with him.
