I have to do a research paper on a poet and one or more of their poems. I have to find criticism and analysis on the poem and one page of biography for the poet. So I picked Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. HE IS INSANELY HARD TO RESEARCH!!! I refuse to switch though, because I'm not poetry fan, except a few selected authors. The only ones I have a liking for are Lewis Carroll, Edgar Allan Poe and Robert Burns(kind of). Too many people are using Poe and Burns . . . and Lewis Carroll proves to be an original choice. Most in my class haven't a clue who he is. So, any past experiences with research papers you'd like to share?

My only advise to you is pick a poem that you really feel attached to. It will make the researching of the poet so much easier, because you will actually (somewhat) care about it. Plus you might want to consider some relatively unknowns. I am a weird guy though... This doesn’t work for everyone.

Jabberwocky is probably my second favorite poem of all time. First being The Raven by Poe. Both wonderful poems.

Just be glad that teachers nowadays consider the Internet a valid research source- when I was writing papers, we still had to go to the LIBRARY. Yuck.
Just a side note to anyone considering a form of higher education (Bachelor's or Master's degree)- I highly recommend the University of Phoenix's online program. They are accredited, you don't have to drive to class, find parking, buy books, meet with study groups, etc.- all of it can be done with a computer and an Internet connection. I will finish my Master's this summer, and it will have taken only 18 months.....good stuff.

I wish internet sources were valuable to this teacher...........Asteban knows what I'm talking about, well they sort of are, they have to be okay with her though. I'm doing "The Hollow Men" by T.S. Eliot, which is really good, kinda difficult but don't care because I'm finding a lot of good criticism and analysis on it.....haha sucks to be you Asteban.
