While I disagree with his tone, I agree that based on trailers, JG looks a little too saccharine for my tastes. Having said that, KS is a brilliant writer and director, so I am more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. My ass will be in a seat opening weekend.

You know, Jimi Hendrix was arguably the best guitar player to ever pick up the instrument. He played with such passion and commitment that I sometimes think the guitar was only in place so as not to freak us out. It was direct communication, spoken in what Eric Clapton once said was our most eloquent voice: Music.

In his later years, a strange term for someone who only had 3-4 years in the industry, he started getting into jazz and other musical forms of expression. A music journalist once said that, while playing live, he would pick up and throw away musical ideas that could’ve been the basis for an entire song. He was a prolific genius. But many of his “fans” didn’t want to hear it. They wanted him to hump his guitar and set it on fire, night after night. He had a unique musical vision that he wanted to share with the world, but they didn’t want to hear it. Imagine his frustration. Some people want cats to remain kittens forever, and a part of me understands that, but I want to hear Kevin’s jazz. If you don’t, well, Monterey Pop and Clerks will always be there for you, on VHS or DVD.

If you replace a word here and there and replace Hendrix with Lucas you could be talking about the greatest fantasy films of all time. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Man, I wish I had written that. Way to put it into perspective so even the newbies can get it.

As the great Coach Paul Bryant would say after watching one of his linebackers elicit a bloody snot bubble from an opposing running back...
"Bingo...that's a goodie!"
