If you woke up to find our beloved Poopshoot message board missing, what would you do??
I think we should prepare a Plan B. Y'know, just in case...

Indeed, we should come up with a Location B for the Guild of... I mean Quickstop Entertainment Messageboards.

Wait, if we were a WoW group, what would be a really neat name for us? (I don't know if you pick obvious names or come up with a brilliantly clever play on words.)

I've done it, I have a guild of Calamitous Intent on WoW....
Here's proof, my Warlock (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Rivendare&n=Raithen).

Hehe. Elder's pants of the Eagle made me giggle.
Can anyone join a guild, or is it just for a small circle of friends?

That guild is just me and one other guy at the moment. However other guilds have certain vetting procedures to decide who they will let in, and others just add whoever asks.

There must be thousands of Guilds. Is there one which is famous, or has a reputation throughout WoW? Sort of an elite, best of the best group?

There are thousands of guilds, but as for any "famous" guilds I have no idea. It really would vary, server to server.

I should read up on WoW. All my info is based on watching someone else play FFXI. Constant leveling up, a few 'missions' then back to endlessly Leveling. Oh, and joining a party. That's all I see.

Most of the stuff thats really fun happens when you get to the level cap. Depending on how obsessed you are, or how much you want to play you can get there in probably 4 weeks played.

What's the level cap? And what do yo do after? Is there a 'world' storyline which is continually being added to so there's always some plot to follow?
Firestone2489

With the latest expansion pack the level cap is 80. Afterwards you can either PVP or do instances. PVP is player vs. player you are playing against other people its more competetive. Instances are basically areas where you need a group because the monsters are harder. Instances either need 5, 10, 25, and I think 40 people per group. As far as story goes there is not much going on there. It is not a very story driven game.

But you kill the monsters... to level up again, or is there a better reward? Does WoW have a plot?

I don't play WoW cause I'm a cheap bastard. I play Eternal Lands. cheaper graphics, but it's free.
And if any other poopshooters join, I'll totally start an Eternal Lands Guild.
maybe "order of the sacred rectum?

I'd be weary of starting an online RPG. I spend enough time online as it is. They seem very addictive!

Guild Wars is more of a CORPG. It is very different from WoW.

I just couldn't justify the amount of time and money I would have to spend whilst playing an MMORPG.
I am worried though, that I might crack when Star Wars - The Old Republic (http://www.swtor.com/) comes out.
A Star Wars MMORPG made by the folk who made Knights...so very tempting.

I'll probably quit WoW for that game.

I just played it for about an hour, it is so boring. Now off to the much more fast-paced Team Fortress 2. :)

They can be. I've currently gotten very much into it. I'm in the expansion pack at the moment, it's a lot of fun.
