Having heard from a friend recently that, if you listen carefully while watching Pulp Fiction, you'll hear a radio somewhere announce that the Jackrabbit Slim's trophy was stolen (and thus not properly won by Mia and V.V.)-- well, I had to give it a shot. I went online to find out precisely when this is *supposed* to occur (already knowing that it must have been in one of Bruce Willis's scenes) and then proceeded to turn the DVD subtitles on so as to assist.

A problem: I don't think this particular "easter egg" holds any water. True, at one point (while Butch is sneaking up to his apartment) a radio does play an ad for Jackrabbit Slim's-- from what I was able to hear, all the announcer says is, "Five-dollar shake... Visit a Jackrabbit Slim's near you today," or something along those lines. Never is there any commentary that the trophy was stolen.

So am I wrong about this? Or are all those websites I visited in error? And, if I haven't listened hard enough, or am looking at the wrong scene, where does this radio announcement pop up in PF?

I know what you're talking about, but I haven't caught it either ...and I've looked. Or should I say listened.

So one of the questions from "Pulp Fiction" that has always plagued me ( and this may have been discussed here before, ) What was in the briefcase ?

A freind of mine told me a few years ago that it was Marcellus' Soul in the briefcase, and because Jules & Vince were retrieving his soul (thereby doing a good deed) "the Lord" protected them, that's why Vince & Jules didn't get killed by the guy coming out of the bathroom " with a Goddamn hand cannon ". And why they didn't get busted driving around town in a car splattered with brains.

I filed this answer under " theories " because it was the most intricate, of answers I've heard.

I have also heard the soul theory. Its seems to be the one most people go with. another clue is the fact that marcellus has a band-aid on the back of his head, where the soul supposedly escaped.

Edit: That topic was where my love affair with psychofiend began...and by love affair, I mean my complete and utter disdain for him.

Thanx J.J. that was informative and entertaining. Makes me wish I'd found this place earlier.

He's got some growin' up to do yet . As much as I might hate to admit it I wasn't all that different from Psycho when I was 16.

I think that the big difference for me is that at his age, I was giving people shit to their face rather than doing it anonymously over the internet.

I didn't check the old thread, but one of the major factors in the soul theory is Marcellus' neck band-aid. It's really curious.

and the combination is 666, number of the beast, so the soul theory ties in with selling one's soul to the devil. Of course we all know it was just a 200watt bulb inside /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif
