View Full Version : **I can't wait to see Jersey Girl**

I saw the trailer to the new movie Jersey Girl and it looks really good. Kevin Smith is a genius and I will be one of the first people in line to see it! -Love, Lidia

That's good to hear--let us know what you think after you see it, too.
I personally don't love the trailer--the original one for ShoWest a while ago was more effective. This one makes the movie seem a bit too cutesy. Which is a good sign, you liking it, since the movie itself is so much better than the trailer. I'm anxious to hear what everyone thinks since it's such a different kind of movie for Kevin.

I really think that the trailer may scare fans of Kevin away... however, it may also pull in tons of Titanic-chicks. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I didn't want to just come out with this, but since you bring it up, I've talked with 5 different friends and Kevin fans (who like his movies for more than the dick/fart/Jay and Bob business) who have outright said they won't see the movie based on the trailer. I mean, they went from excited to "fuck that" in.......how long is the preview again?

I think the word I would use is "fickle".
I will see Jersey Girl, and I am looking forward to it. To be honest, Jay and Silent Bob was my least favorite of his movies, although I found it to be funny, and a great nod to his fans. Hopefully Jersey Girl will contain some of that biting wit that makes me a Smith-nerd.
Either way, I would not avoid seeing it because of a trailer. There are thousands of trailers that looked great and the movie blew. You can't judge a book by it's cover and title jacket. If that were true, John Grisham would have won a Pulitzer by now.

Oh, believe that I will be seeing this movie opening weekend. The preview makes it look a little sketchy, but we are in full agreement -- gotta judge the movie by itself and not the trailer.
Plus, I already promised I would see the flick in its first weekend in my contest entry!

I'm back zens 7 i hoped u missed me. I am lookign foward to seeing Jersey Girl but i am not to sure when its coming out in England(i still havn't gone online to check the dates and i never will) so will one of u guys check. The jay and silent bob films are classic funnies and are great for a laugh but i still love jay and silent bob strike back, even if Jersey is good.
i have heard a few diffrent story lines for Jersey Girl but what is the main story in it and will jay or bob have an apperance at all. if not will there ever be another jay and bob film??? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

Oh my god it's him again! sir, please step away from the emoticons.
P.S: Jay & Silent Bob will not be in Jersey Girl
P.P.S: They might make an appearance in a clerks feature length cartoon, though Kevin is very busy and has many projects like the green hornet in pre-production at the moment so only time will tell.

I will let you know when I see it. Sometimes trailers do not do justice for a great movie, but I think the trailer was cool. Love,Lidia

So all this time and effort I've spent trying to woo you, is subverted by yet another pair of camoflauged boxers.
What's a would be wooer to do ? Perhaps there is some sort of wooing workshop or classes I could attend ? I know, I'll call John Woo and then you'll all woo the day.

Don't worry Wingman, smile face boxers will never be able to woo me away from you. But John Woo called to pre-woo for you, and Whew! It blew. Who knew that John Woo would skip the woo and go right to "Let's Screw"! /forums/images/icons/blush.gif

Cutesy? Come on - this is Kevin Smith man. Kevin does heartfelt. Kevin does well-written. Kevin does smart comedy and Kevin does sweet. You'll dig the flick.
In theaters everywhere March 26th. We're hearing that the UK release date is June 25th

even if this thread is like most moviepoopshoot threads and off-topic after the first 4 posts(unless it has a good reason to be on the site), ah... the only reason i'm seein Jersey Girl is because of Kevin Smith, i loved Jay & Silent Bob, and because George Carlin, funniest man alive, is in it.

I finally got to see it! It was great! I am going to go see it again tomorrow. Again, Kevin Smith has outdone himself!! Two thumbs UP!! The cast was awesome, Liv Tyler is gorgeous, and Ben too, of course. And Raquel Castro is adorable! It was definitly worth seeing! Great Job!! Love, Lidia /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Normally, when someone asks the obvious question that could probably be easily answered if they would just take the time and do a yahoo or google search (or just reading this entire thread), I do the search for them and link to the page with the answers. Of course, this comes with a price of me ridiculing them for being such a lazy bastard.
However, since you were given another answer already, I won't.

I couldn't be botherd searching the net and i didn't bother reading the whole thread unless its short this ones far to long for me to read without getting v vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv vvvvvvvvvve5ry bored.

Dude, like it is only 2 pages. I can see skipping pages in a 7 page thread, especially when a lot of it is just back and forth banter between two people, but this is only 2 pages long.
I don't really mean to be picking on you too much, okay sometimes I do like picking on people, but at least put forth a little effort. Even a search on google resulted in the entry on the first page by Ming. You wouldn't have even had to have read the entire thread.
