WHAT THE F.......oh, sorry. Hey, you posted in the forum meant for movie poop shoot columns. There is a forum called "Off Topic" where you can post whatever the hell you want. So, if you do decide to come back, please post those threads over there. As far as your poll, I vote for The Ring- the only movie that has ever scared me.

That's a pretty sad and sorry list. The only one that's even worth mentioning on it is Halloween. My vote goes to Dawn of the Dead.

1. Ditto on the wrong thread thingy.

2. If you are gonna post a poll like this, close it out so people can actually post a [censored] vote.

3. None of those are scary. Yeah, I will admit there are some movies out there where the suspense might make you jump a bit, but no modern horror flick is really scary. Well, except for maybe "Glitter". I ran screaming from the living room when I realized that it was "Glitter" that my daughter was watching.

4. The only film that has ever really scared me enough to either give me nightmares or actually keep me from falling asleep was "The Birds". Yeah, I was just a kid at the time I saw it (about 10 or 11), and yeah I had to sleep in an attic converted into a bedroom (by myself), and yeah the wind kept blowing a tree branch into the window and it made me think it was a bird pecking at it. Talk about scared shitless.

Hey remember guys, we're really trying hard to be nice to newbies right now.

I haven't seen "Rose Red" or "Gosht Ship", I did see one called " Ghost ship " though , and I wonder about copyright infringements. /forums/images/icons/confused.gif Perhaps it was intended parody ?

Anyway, none of my favorite scary movies are on the poll. So I'm going with these. I'm leaving " Glitter " out as it's horror was unintended.
At least, I think it was?

1) A Nightmare on Elm Street . The original is still the best my young friend.

2) Witchboard . I never played with a ouija board again. After that, my friends and I stuck to sacrificing and mutilating small animals in a ritualistic, candle-lit type setting. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

3)Mothman Prophecies , Well into my twenties and certainly not a fan of Richard Gere . That was the last movie that actually scared me . Something that knows everything about you. Something that marks you. And once you notice them ... They know, you noticed them. It's also based ( loosely ) on a true story .

I couldn't sleep the first night I watched it .

ps. There's a FAQ's link that tells you how to set up a poll so that people can actually answer it. If you still can't figure it out, ASK and someone will help you .

Welcome to the 'Shoot.

Eh, I suppose Halloween will do. Not the best list, especially since Freddy vs. Jason was barely a horror film. It was a fanboy action flick, and in that aspect I will admit the film had its moments. Anyway, the best horror film for me is Alien. The silence, the darkness, never getting a good view of the alien, it just creeps me out.

Depends on horror, maybe it's the plot, in which case Halloween gets a mention, as does the Omen, maybe for gore you might pick The Thing, or The Fly (the 80's remake.)
Though your list compromises of the modern horror mostly (e.g for halloween you probably meant resurrection) which makes me wonder how you forgot to mention the Final Destination films, they have some of the best imaginative deaths.

Funniest post of the day award goes to Smurfy. Darth Maul Rat gets credit for the assist.

I think The Thing has a lot more going for it then just the gore. But the gore is quite nice.

My favorite horror films are the ones that actually scared the piss out of me.

Exorcist, Candyman, and Omen. All of these scarred the shit out of me when i was a kid.

Thank you! The Final Destination films are probably my favorite all time horror movies. I mean, in what other movie could you possibly see a kid blow up and have his arm land on his mother's plate, Ha! But anyways, my hats off to you Omaru!!!
