Here's a fun fact actually, spam went on the market the same year that the Nazi's opened their first concentration camp.
Food for thought.

Remember the Spam craze a few years back? Everybody wanted to wear a Spam t-shirt. I am proud to have resisted such attempts at marketing for the machine. Now where is my Mr. Bubble t-shirt...

And you know, if that coincidence was reflective of what actually happened, there's something brutally ironic about turning a jew into a pork product. Especially spam, the least kosher of all pork products.

That first response to my post was dark and distasteful and definitely un-p.c. But it was sorta witty
That second one really crosses the frickin' line ! Now I definitely am not going back to your site . Hah ! and I was going to try for a writing job ?!
Everybody sing it with me now.

Dude, I'm Jewish.
Now there is really no way to know that from your posts is there. Btw, welcome aboard.

Don't think it needs to be said. Do you always tell people your race when posting? I'm an agnostic Jew, by the way, so that should explain anything bad I say about religion.

C'mon man, That was still cold. This is an ivisible forum. I could be a black woman, but that still doesn't mean I should fill the space up with racial slurs. We don't know really anything about any of us (yes, I know some of you are friends away from the boards, so you don't count in what I am saying, of course) So hateful speech in your first posts was not taken in a light manner. If you are going to say something extreme like that you have to realize that this is a place a lot of us come to unwind and goof around, not read neo-nazi crap. So, welcome to the board, but geez, don't be amazed that you were chastized for iccky remarks.
Now, let's all be happy skippy friends.

This reminds me of a completely unrelated incident. In college I dated a guy for a little while before religion came up. He said one night, out of nowhere, "I am a non-practicing Jew."
Like any good movie geek, I thought he was quoting Reality Bites. So I replied, "Oh yeah, well I am a non-practicing Virgin!"
He looks at me a little confused and says, "No, really, I thought you should know before you meet my parents tomorrow." /forums/images/icons/blush.gif

Well reading that you're Jewish , I guess that gives you some levity . However, I would still be careful with the racial jokes. Besides, there's so many more humorous and creative ways to make fun of people once you've taken race out of the equation.
I have trouble finding humor in the Holocaust , and I'm not Jewish
Now Soylent Green ? Okay there's some humor there. Why ? Because it's fiction , at least for now .
Welcome to the shoot ! Hopefully Ryall doesn't ban you for ( percieved ) Neo-Nazi comments.
Good Luck !

While we are kind of on the subject, is anybody else kind of baffled by the fact that Jewish refers to both a religion and an ethnicity? It has always struck me as odd that you can be Jewish and Catholic (race and religion respectively) or African-American and Jewish (race, religion) or even Jewish and Jewish (race, religion). Although I think that would be called just Jewish. Strange to me.

Judaism is a religion, not an ethnicity, just like all arabs are not Muslims.

But, the guy above that everybody got mad at said he is an agnostic Jew. If it is just a religion, what he said is the same as saying I am a non-believing Christian...it doesn't make sense.
Matt1

Actually you'd be surprised at how many people I know who claim to be Catholic yet believe in practically none of the tenets of that religion. I agree it doesn't make sense, but it's not a phenomena specific to Judaism alone.

But, I assume they at least believe that there is a God and a Christ. They may not go to church or to confession, but at least believe in the foundation of the religion. An agnostic Jew, I assume, would not believe that there is a God.

I totally agree J.J. but I know people here a little too well, to think that we can have polite discussion about religion . Look what happens when we dicuss politics.
So fine , I believe everyone should be allowed to believe whatever they want and not be made fun of for it . Within certain limits, of course. I'm not defending zealots and freaks like David Koresh or those Heavens Gate weirdos. But if people want to believe in Jesus or Buddha or Allah or Siva or Zeus or Bob or No God at all, or what ever else you can think of that's fine ! As long as your beliefs or moral code says it's wrong to Kill or maliciously harm another human being; I'm all for it . And as long as no ones' trying to convert me. Because if they do ? By Krom I swear, I'll kill them all !

Of course there are two Gods. One is named Ryall and he decides if you live or die...on this site at least. The other is named Kevin Smith and he created the world we all live in.
