View Full Version : X2: My initial take on it

My first impression of this movie is extremely good. I am actually suppressing my love for it because I am not sure if I actually liked it as much as I did (you know, the coolness factor may wear off later). There is the same problem as with the last movie (not that it really takes anything away) that many scenes seem as if they were just included for convenience... or to show off a specific power. I didn't really care about that since the movie is uber-cool.
This may just be the best super-hero movie made yet. It is far better than the first and I laughed to myself thinking about how much better it was than Spider-Man. There really is so much to like about this movie that any complaint about its dialogue or storyline or... anything, is thrown out the window (at least on this initial viewing).
Great comic super-hero movie. The audience roared with cheers and applause at the end of it.

If Spidey would only leave me alone... I see and hear about this stinker at least once a week. Ugh.

SPOILER FREE X2 REVIEW.
I loved the first one, but I love this one more. Great, great comic book movie, and my favorite summer movie in a few years.

I'm actually seeing it again in a few hours. A friend just called and wants to see it so I am forced to tag along. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Will it make it through my second viewing criticism? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I'm waiting for someone to post a review like the Matrix ones mentioned in Well's column today. I read that yesterday on AICN and I couldn't stop laughing.

After reading that review I believe that the new Matrix will suck major ass.

Didn't you already think that? It does not seem like anyone's opinion could change your mind about the Matrix.

They built two miles of road on a military base to do a chase scene that is supposedly 20 some minutes. How can that not factor into anticipating this next movie? Reloaded is going to be the awesome action movie that The Matrix didn't have time for.

Oh, yeah with all that phillosophical content they threw in there. That movie really makes you think.
Exit sarcastic Robbo.

Hehehe... exactly.
By the way, I just came back from seeing X2 again and it is still a really cool movie. I noticed a few things this time that I missed the last time... both good and bad. The coolest thing about it is its running time... it flies by. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Great movie. Just as good as I expected. I had faith that Bryan Singer and David Hayter would have another good script. Though it's hard to dissapoint me with a movie based on a comic. Except for Spawn *Cringes at the thought of John Leguizamo playing the role of Violator* /forums/images/icons/mad.gif
Though it seems unnecessary to make a third thread about X2 when there were 2 other threads already existing about reviewing X2... I'm sorry, it's in my human nature to complain about things. Just like everyone else.
