come on, the show has been on for more than 10 years, and its coming to an end soon, so give it a movie, animated or real, i dont care

They DO NOT need to make a movie, live-action or otherwise. IT' a TV show. That's how it should be remembered when it is gone.

I think they should do like The Flintstones. Make a live-action movie like 20 years after the series is done. By then, some of us will be dead and we won't have to moan about the fact that they are ruining our childhood memories. Oh, and "BrodieMan" this should probably be on the Off Topic board.

in 20 years you'd be dead? I don't even want to imagine how old you are for being at a message board.

Besides that, Simpsons wouldn't work as a movie.

I must agree, a Simpsons movie won't work. The show's been on for what, 13 seasons? If a show's been on that long, there's not much left to the imagination. Plus, how are they going to get a 1/2 hour show into a 1 1/2 hours anyway?

They do not need to make a movie, look at what the movie did to South Park.

I have to add my voice to the No Simpsons Movie Bandwagon. I think the writers are having a difficult enough time coming up with ideas for show, without dividing time on a movie. Simpsons is my favorite show on tv, but it's quality is slipping. I feel that their may just be not that much more to say. Also as another poster said earlier, the Southpark Movie didn't really hold up, nor did the Beavis and Butthead one. Fan of both those shows, but the movies are just o.k.

The South Park movie was fantastic, just fantastic.

"If you are ever in danger.. make the sound of a dying giraffe."

Come on now.. can't get better than that. This is just my opinion though.

I'm not denying that the South Park movie was good, I'm just saying that it didn't do anything to help keep the show popular, the movie came out when South Park was most popular which led to lots of people seing it. But, for all those people who saw it, it just did more to make them get bored with South Park. I know that Simpsons has proven that it has staying power, but you never know what might happen if the released a movie based on it.

I actually thought it was the other way around for The South Park movie. Viewership and critical buzz for the show were beginning to wane, and all the critical acclaim the film received helped to reenergize the show, for a time anyway. The movie is a work of genius, by the way.

As for a Simpsons movie... I don't like the idea. The Simpsons as of late has become way too stream of conciousness, rapid fire gag after gag to sustain a feature length film. Although, Airplane is pretty rapid fire, so I'm not quite sure. It could work, but if it didn't it would sully the name of one of the greatest shows in history. Much like how the final episode of Seinfeld besmirched the entire series.

The Simpsons creator, Matt Groeining (probably not spelled right), has signed Simpsons until 2005. If the show doesn't get renewed that year then he will make the movie.

I must agree with ya there. South Park got a movie though and it was excellent. The Simpsons should get their movie as long as they stay animated!
There was a vote taken as to which sitcom took most like the average family. Anonymously, the Simpsons won. I really doubt we've seen the last of 'em! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
