...keep in mind that some people might not be able to see it right away, so if you talk about it (and I highly encourage that--I've been wanting to talk about this movie for two weeks), please just throw a "Spoiler" warning in your Subject if it calls for that.

Hope everyone likes it as much as I did.

Bribed/blackmailed my way into the opening in LA so you can talk to me about it if you like...And yes, I enjoyed the hell out of it, more than #1...Hell almost as much as seeing "Hugh Jackman and his long wavy hair" in person (I can now die a happy and fantasy filled death).

And...? What'd you think? I'm talking about the entire movie, not just the scenes with Jackman, by the way...

You got into the premiere out here? Well-played!

I don't understand why the theaters by me are not doing midnight showings? They showed Daredevil the night before but not X2? Curse you Fox!

hopefully not writing every niggle and cranny of bad points of the film, reasons you didn't like it and ruining any of it before we get to see it.

I just saw it- all I can say is HOLY SHIT! X-squared is right! Much, much better than the first. Not a clean movie at all. Very happy that Logan got a few "bub"'s in there as well as the opportunity to just go berserker! I'm not too much of a comic geek anymore, so I was very surprised that I just knew what was going to happen in the end what with the headaches and the missles... I won't explain any furthur, just so as to not spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but those who have seen it will hopefully understand what I'm saying. Besides, I've got to get ready to go- I'm going to again in an hour, this time with my fiancee.

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

You have to love the fact that there was no holding back of Wolverine being his comix self. The fact that he puts his claws through about a dozen people makes this movie at least 4 times better than the last. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

SPOILER OVER

Anyway you talk of cyclops and he's hardley in this one. I could only pray for a day they cast winona ryder in the next film lol.

i loved it. i was reading usa today's review of it and i don't think that guy even watched the movie.

usa today article (http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/reviews/2003-05-01-x2_x.htm)

also from the usa today website:

>>Other mutants appearing in the movie:

Iceman/Bobby Drake can lower his external and internal body temperature, thereby radiating intense cold.
Colossus/Piotr Rasputin can turn his body into organic steel, which grants him great strength and makes him nearly invulnerable.
Shadowcat/Katherine "Kitty" Pryde can pass through things.
Pyro/John Allerdyce controls fire.
Jubilee creates exploding pyrotechnic plasmoids (think fireworks) to confuse and disorient opponents.
Artie dampens powers of mutants near him. In the comics his code name is Leech.
Siryn/Theresa Cassidy uses her sonic scream as a concussive force.
Beast/Dr. Henry "Hank" McCoy has superhuman strength, speed and agility, plus the acrobatic prowess of an accomplished circus aerialist.
Gambit/Remy LeBeau is a skilled thief who can imbue objects with an energy charge that makes them explosive. <<

i didn't see gambit or jubilee, and the only place i saw the beast was in one scene on the tv where he was talking on CNN. did i just miss that they were in it?

When I mention Cyclops I mean in both movies. Of course he is bound to play a huge role in the next one.

Please don't say that like it's a bad thing. I never could stand Cyclops much in the comics and it's no different in the movies. Sure his abilities are cool and all. (Who wouldn't like the power to control an optic blast?) But I just can't stand his character. He's such a boy scout. I can't stand people like that.
Just as bad as the way Superman is "Mr. Perfect". I hate those people.

My comments on X2

First of all : please, when you go to the movies, shut your cell phone ring up, and for god sake, don't play with a red laser pointer on the screen, that's dude...

Ok, now, my reals comments. WOW !
X2 just amazing. The cast is perfect. Diablo a piece of art. The youngers are really cool (Did I mention earlier that I love Ice /forums/images/icons/wink.gif) Ian McKuellen really got me too. Not to mention Wolverine and his nemesis... Just one regret, in my opinion, we don't see enough of Cyclops. All the mutants powers are shown a lot except his... Too bad.

Just one question. I don't remember the comics very well. Did they kill Jane Grey in it too ? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

Had to love it, and it's going to do very well. Saw it at 11:30 this morning and the theater was about 3/4 full, which doesn't indicate good things for Ms. Hillary Duff.

Great effects. Great story. Great plot points. Great tie-ins for the comic book geeks. Lots of sneak peeks at future mutant heroes. Even some good acting. Unanswered questions. The Wolverine we all love.

The Matrix trailer on the big screen.

My only disappointment was in the preview for the Hulk- since when is he a 4-story-tall giant? Or is my memory off?

SEE X2.

When you mentioned spoilers you are supposed to give a warning to people. So...

SPOILER WARNING 2 POSTS ABOVE THIS ONE! I HOPE YOU SEE THIS FIRST

agree with u. Hulk preview really disapointing me... Where's my old buddy Ferrigno ? The new giant looks to much like the poorly animation is his. If I wanted to see Shrek reloaded, I put on my DVD.

Spoiler

Although no powers were displayed, the girl that sits next to Prof. X at the very end of the movie (when he begins talking about the book) looks dead on to be Jubilee. The big ol' earings and hair are a dead give away.

I didn't see any evidence of Gambit though. I imagine that's just a rumor, if Gambit was in the movie the writers would know better than to make him a background character.

JK

Gambit's name (Remy LeBue (sp?)) was on Stryker's computer.

Great movie.

Everything that was crappy about the first one and even stuff that was good has been drastically improved upon.

(might be some spoilers here, if you're that paranoid, don't read)

With all the expository sh!t out of the way, there's actual characterization. The effects, but more so the improved cinematography, allow for characters who are their 2d counterparts incarnate. Magneto looks like the cold hearted, world crushing God he's supposed to be instead of a senior citizen in dorky helmet. Rouge and Bobby have a great dynamic, mystique is finally fleshed out as full character (much cooler than she's ever been in the comic), James Marsden has almost no lines!

Singer and the gang really did listen to feedback, if you liked anything about the first X-Men, you'll love this movie.

SPOILER!!!!

So does the ending mean X3 is gonna have space pirates? Or will they steal Ultimate X-Men's hellfire club occult story line? Or go for the "just an extension of her own power" cop out like in New X-Men? Or some creative fourth option less alienating (pun intended) than the space pirate soap opera? Who knows.

spoilers require too much ubb code

This it total geek speculation here, but I can't see that there's any need for any "Starjammers" or Lilandra or any of that. Her powers aren't "cosmic" in the movie, so I'd rather see something like Sentinels used to handle Dark Phoenix. A take-off of the Dark Phoenix saga with the Hellfire Club, Mastermind (Stryker's son in the movie) and Sentinels would be great.

Is making any discussion difficult, because I love discussing the Batbooks. Every time I think I see a discussion about her I wind up getting some movie ruined for me. X2 friggin rocked.
