That was good... except for your usual morono-politico babble.

Where was the political babble? He said Monkey Boy's gonna help him end the war, that's hardly babble. Don't read too much into stuff.

You make me giggle like a little girl, Lynch. You took your little jab and it was actually funny... but what scares me is that you believe it. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Where was the politcal babble? Please explain.

Is it that much part of your vernacular that you don't see it? The final bubble. Margaret Cho would be proud. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Explain why it's political babble. Bush is asking Monkey Boy to help end the war before the election? Is that

(A) really politcal, at least to the point of being worth insulting me about it in a post, and

(B) babble? There was one line about it.

Babbling about politics against Bush or for Bush is not what this comic is doing or will do, but do me a favor and please don't get up in arms because Bush is IN the strip. Did you just see Bush and assume what was written was "politcal morono babble"? You have no idea where this strip or story is going, and Bush hasn't done anything wrong IN this story yet. Don't jump the gun.

I love writing something and putting time and money into it, just to have one guy post about it and piss me off. Makes me so happy.

You should have realized by now that Razorback is the master of making you hate him with one post....

Insinuating that the president wants to pull the troops out around election time is a political statement in my book. However, if you are saying that I have read too much into it and that this strip is not making a political statement then I will take your word for it.

I was saying that George wants the war to end by the election. Not that he's going to do it BECAUSE it's election time, just that he would PREFER it.

Ahhh... fair enough.

We will not be out of Iraq by then even if Monkey Man has something to do with it. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Blog Girl is great! LOL

She's like a parody of, well, 95% of the people that use the internet, what with their LOLing and ROTFLOLing about. And the way you had her text between the asterisks to describe what she's doing was...

*scratches head, ponders*

..Funny!

My only criticism to date with Jon's work is his rendition of Dubya. I think he made him look too intelligent and dignified, but otherwise did another bang up job. I particularly enjoyed the Warholesque Monkey Boy picture in the bachelor pad.

Keep up the great work, gents!

(Chris, if you don't ban me, I promise never to use acronymic laughter again. LOL)

Thanks man. Blog Grrl is a parody of a couple of friends' blogs that I read. Private School Girl housed her crap, didn't she?

I like Jon's George W Bush, but I especially love his panel of Monkey Boy pouting towards the end. That's my favorite.

Just as a point of fact, you adding the little smiley face in there doesn't make you sound like any less dickish.

I would hate to have you think less "dickish" of me. That would ruin a perfectly bad relationship.

Are you picking fights with the guy who spends hours a day running this site? Why don't you just [censored] leave? It's just that simple.

Razorback
02-09-2004, 10:09 PM
Yeah... you figured me out, Lynch. I am picking fights for no other reason than to pick fights. I guess I am not as complex as you think.

As for leaving, ban me. I am sick and tired of you guys thinking that I have to kiss your ass to remain in your good graces. So ban me because I am not going to change. If I have an issue with something you do I will say it. If I like it then I will say that too.

I didn't comment about your strip to pick a fight with you. I thought you were trying to make a point. You argued your case and I accepted it. Then, afterwards, Ryall decided it wasn't enough that I had accepted your point, he needed to take a jab at me. So I responded in jest. Ryall would have none of it since he had his mission and he was going to carry it out.

In any event, as I stated about 10 months ago and am stating again, if you want me off this site then ban me. I don't even have a problem with it. Please, do it. End this awful personality that is Razorback. He is such a jackass anyway. Commenting, week after week about how awesome your strip is. Defending this site when assholes come in here and throw around shit. Yeah... I'm the dick that needs to leave. Punt me.

It ain't up to me, but after your "I'd hate to ruin a perfectly bad relationship" post to Ryall, I assumed you wanted him to not like you. Sorry if I don't undersand what you're trying to say, but I will as soon as you do.

Razorback

I responded to Ryall's clear jab at me with a response in jest (I am now repeating myself and that really gets on my nerves). I was showing Ryall respect by not engaging him in a confrontation. I thought he might take it as it was intended, but then he responded again... in the negative. He basically told me that the use of smiley's didn't change his opinion of my postings so I responded, again in jest, this time leaving off the smiley since he had already indicated it would make no difference.

You could shorten that last post to "sometimes I type and THEN I think, I should really switch those two steps around."

ON A QUEST FOR 1000 POSTS AND THEN A BAN! Or something.

Mission? Let's not flatter ourselves and think I have time to read every one of your posts. I read your initial post, didn't like the way you took a shot at Brian, and I said so, end of story.

Razorback

I wasn't trying to take a shot at Lynch. "Morono-politico" isn't an insult, it is what I thought he was going for.

RB

BrianLynch
02-10-2004, 06:42 PM
"That was good... except for your usual morono-politico babble."

How is that not an insult? Wouldn't that indicate that you think that I, in this strip as well as in others, made some kind of politcal statement that was stupid?

If you're going to be insulting, at least stick to your guns, don't backtrack.

MattM
02-10-2004, 06:43 PM
I don't see how Lynch could take it as a positive critique, considering you said you didnt like it (the non-insult "morono-politico"). The fact that it was so short, without anything to back it up or make it constructive also makes one think it an insult to either Lynch's writing or the strip itself.

I am confused... so you don't aim for morono-politico babble? So your statements in the past about not making political statements in your strips was untrue? Clearly you aim for the lowest political denominator. I don't know what else to call it. I am not backtracking anything, however you are confusing me with your "I am not making a political statement" and then "you are calling my political statements into intellectual question" comments.

I said it was funny and that the strip was good. In the past I have done nothing but praise Lynch... calling his strip the best thing on the Net. How am I not a fan? This is probably the most annoying thing about this whole argument... I can't imagine being any more of a fan of this dudes work.
