View Full Version : Identity - a damn good movie

I had read some bad reviews of this movie on Rotten Tomatoes and wasn't very interested in it but when a friend invited me to go see it tonight I figured I might as well (I can only post so much on here you know). After seeing it I have no idea what anyone could complain about really.

I can't say much about the movie since, like The Usual Suspects, the premise is somewhat (or a lot) related to the conclusion and that would ruin the movie for most people. However, there is much to like. The acting is very good and once you learn the "truth" some of the over-acting makes sense. The atmosphere and overall story is pretty original. I don't think that I have ever seen a similar story... which is unusual. I am not a fan of horror/thriller movies but this one just blew me away because of its interesting twist on the normal "who is the bad guy" storyline.

For all of the noise that people made about The Ring (which is not even half as good as Identity) I have seen very little mentioned about this movie. Most modern horror/thriller films are unoriginal or boring or they play to the stupidity of the audience. Plus, this movie has scary moments that actually made me "nervous". I usually just yawn at this type of stuff.

Anyway, if anyone else has seen the movie please let me know what you think. I ask that you leave out spoilers.

I just rented this a few weeks ago and as much as I hate to admit it...I agree with you. This was a great movie. I figured out one of the twists, but thought it was put together very well. I must recommend as a rental.

*Possible spoiler*

It's a little hard to say what I think without including spoilers, but the 'who is the bad guy' and 'we're all trapped in this hotel together' aspects seemed a lot like a game of Clue to me. All I really recognized as unique (and I might've seen another movie with a similar twist even) was the twist at the end. I did like the movie, but I didn't think it was super special groundbreaking stuff of legend. The acting was great though, I will definitely grant you that.

I really enjoyed this film. I saw it by myself and it scared the crap out of me. But, alas I am a wuss.

I really liked the ending though. Freaked me the hell out. That is why I don't trust little kids I tell yeah.

I've had that movie for a couple weeks and thought it was quite good. *SPOILER* When it was revealed that the kid did it I probably would not have been surprised, except for one problem... I forgot the kid and therefore didn't know he even existed because he had no dialogue and therefore was not memorable. Great twist, I must say.

I liked the movie too. Thought it was one of the better movies released in the past year.

I saw it in the theater without knowing much about it and really liked it. I heard all the bad stuff later and couldn't believe it. Cool flick.
