Well. Goddamn! Is it cold! There is a serious problem and it isn't just that it is so [censored] cold. The other problem is that school is already cancelled for tommorow. I don't mind a day off. But doesn't it seem a little rediculous to cancel school so early. Well, tommorow is a day off anyway. So I guess i have that going for me.

Yeah, this weather blows. I'm tired of the whole freakin' East Coast. It's supposed to be in the teens tonight. I just wasn't made for cold weather. /forums/images/icons/mad.gif

Yeah Droog, Here in central Tx. it's drizzly and 61 degrees. This summer when you and Psycho are enjoying 80s and a cool coastal breeze, it'll be 112 in the shade here . Frankly, I miss winter time.

Yeah, I have to differ with you though--winter sucks...and so does summer...why can't it be fall all the time? Karma, do you know why?

Back in my day, no one ever complained about school being cancelled for a day.
Of course, since I went to school in Southern California, school was NEVER cancelled due to bad weather. We had to stay inside on really smoggy days but still had to go.
Aww, forget it...I'm gonna go back and sit on the porch and drink my lemonade and complain about how much worse I had it back in the day.

I could settle for perpetual autumn.
Are you asking why it can't be, or why it isn't already?

Want to talk about cold? Try walking to class with below 0 temperatures, 25 mph winds, and falling snow all day long. Not to mention that the sidewalks are snowed in and having to walk along the edges of the road. But then again, my fault for chossing Buffalo to come and study.

ALL RIGHT YOU ALL, last week it was -12, with a -40 windchill here.
School was still on! We are bred tough here in Minnesota, not like all you pansies that stay indoors when it approaches 0. Perhaps I should send you all some panties?

*sigh* I sure did enjoy wearing my flip flops and capris today.
EternalStrife,
Does'nt Buffalo have those underground tunnels and walkways to get around campus?
Or does it only access part of it?
I'm asking because I had a couple of friends who went there.

Fall is my favorite season. I like cool weather, but winter is growing on me just because I like keeping warm when it is cold outside. Be it blanket or sharing of body heat, I like keeping warm when its cold. Or perhaps sharing body heat under a blanket. That's my favorite /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Can't complain here. Today I was eating outside at the office in Yuma in a tank top and skirt. I hate to admit it, but I am starting to like the west again more than I should. The thought of going back to 12 degrees on Saturday is not thrilling me. At least I will only be back for a week.

I'm exactly the same way. If we're talking uncomfortable temperatures, I would much rather try to warm up from the cold than cool down from the heat. I hate feeling HOT.

You wanna hear about cold? It was -30 last week, over here in MN. Now that's cold. You leave your window open at night, you die!

It's been known to get nippy in Denver, but not as cold as some places in the midwest. I love it when I gripe about the cold and people start in with the whole "Aren't you from Denver?" crap. Yes, born and raised, but we have heaters. I hate when you walk outside and your eye lashes and your nose hairs freeze instantly.

Last week, it was so cold that my mustache froze on the 100-yard walk from my car to the building I live in. That's the first time it's happened to me(I've only had a mustache for a coupla months). This week has been down right balmy. The high has been in the low 50's all week. Snow tonight though.

The coolest thing about mpls/stpl are the skyways. Tunnels built into skyscrapers above the streets of downtown. Wicked stuff, second only to crack.

Nah, the wife won't let me get rid of the goatee. And, since she cares more about what I look like than I do, she gets to be the boss...but only in this situation...seriously!

That they do. But I live off campus and have to walk most of the time. And I am certain there are no walkways or tunnels from my apartment to the campus.
Arrrrgh! That sucks!
But living off campus is nice though.
If you don't have them already, buy a set of Military grade
E.C.W.C.S thermal underwear. Great stuff. There are some good copies around too.

I remember once my school made us attend on a snow day, so I skipped the day with another friend after the intial register call, we went to a park and had to cross a shallow river on a rope, I fell in and then I was crippled for the rest of the journey, we went to his sister's house and then had to hide in the bedroom when her abusive husband came home, she even threw lots of things over us like blankets and the mattress to say she was changing the room around, if we had been caught there we probably would have got beaten severely. For missing school and also cause my friend and his brother in law don't get on. Looking back it was quite an unhappy but exciting day out.

We had about 8 inches of snow here in the D on Wednesday- 26 out of 230 kids showed up for school, so we let them have free run of the place, pretty much- they used the gym, the computer lab, and we showed some movies. We took a picture that I'm gonna post to the school website of the kids, I'll caption it "Polar Bears" or something lamely teacherly like that. It was a great day until the drive home- It took me almost 3 hours to make what is usually a 25 minute trip. Blecch. Makes me want to jump a jet to San Diego to see my boy.... /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif

How about instead of something lamely teacherly, you caption it something lamely geeky, like "Taun-Taun's" or "Hoth-Beasts".

Umm, the skyways are in St Paul only.
