I'd do well on this except for the memorablia stuff. Thought some of you might be better suited for this. I think it would be only fair if you got on that you plug the shoot and declare you're undying love for it, but that's just me.

Ultimate Film Fanatic

We all know someone, perhaps even you, who thinks they are the Ultimate Film Fan - basking in your knowledge of useless film trivia, collecting items from films that only you can appreciate, spending those hard earned dollars on auction website sales - buying what you think will complete your film buff collection. Well now its time to prove to the world that you are the ULTIMATE FILM FANATIC!

The show works in 3 rounds:
ROUND 1
Basic film trivia - a piece of cake for any true film buff
ROUND 2
The Debate - we pick a film topic and you debate an opponent on why you think it rocks or not
ROUND 3
Collectibles - here's where the true freaks can strut their stuff - bring the best of your film collection and see how it stacks up against the rest

HOLY SHIT!

Game show auditions in Detroit? Sweet!

1st Round is about Movie Trivia? Sweet!

2nd Round is a Cinematic Debate? Sweet!

I have to.....own?....stuff?....to..win....another round?

Yeah, that last round is what got me too. I'm not into memorabilia.

Hmm, after thought and discussion and bribery...I may be able to borrow friends memoriblia to get better chances of getting on show. I may apply. I won't get on. And if I did, I'd pass out, but I may as well try. I mean any opportunity to plug the shoot must be taken.

I saw the spot that's running on IFC a little while ago.
Not crazy about rounds two and three.
Especially three. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

You know... sooner or later...someone's going to show up with a bottle that contains Madonna's pap smear...if you look real closely, you can even see one of her pubes! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Curious as to the type of debate. I mean I can argue why I like point of No Return better than La Femme Nitkia so I think I can argue just about anything. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Wouldn't true film fans be broke from buying so many tickets, and not have money for authentic memrobillia? Some one who buys an authentic prop is more likely to be obsessed with one film, not all films. Round three should be a duration match of who can sit the longest. THAT would be good television.

Oh I got that category nailed. My record in a movie theater is from 9am to 3am without falling asleep or leaving during the show for a bathroom break.

...wow. What film(s) was that? William Shatner reading the Gettysburg Address? I thought the 11 hours from trilogy tuesday was an accomplishment. Not to sound suggestive (that's a lie), but your ass must have taken a beating after that.

Wasn't that bad actually. It was Branaugh's Hamlet from (9a-1p), Evita (1:30-4p), Star Wars Re-Release (4:30-6:30), Empire Re-Release (7:30-9:30), Jedi Re-Release (10:00-12:00a) and Midnight showing of The Godfather.

I'm rounding times can't remember exactly. We had time to eat 2 meals. It was a while ago in Chicago. We had to jump theaters three times within the same couple of blocks to do them all. And for the record I actually paid for all of them.

You think Point of No Return is better than La Femme Nikita? Hmmm... lay your argument on me.

Also, while I'm not all that big of a fim fanatic, I am a huge Fin fanatic...

This sounds pretty interesting, however in film mem. I would probably loose. The only 'fan' worthy things I own are a moulin rouge theater poster, a mobile of lord of the rings (thanks to STARZ) a 5 foot or so (all I know is it is bigger than me) lord of the rings banner and that's it.
