Well, if MY New Year's Resolution was to not drink, smoke, and do drugs then I have been succcessful so far! (Actually, I already don't smoke or do drugs, so we are safe there.)

Thanks for asking, not feeling a bit better. Worse actually. I think I have non-party remorse, and it is making the situation harder. Funny you should mention Law and Order. I just started watching that show while I was gone the last few months. The reruns are nice because I can watch a whole episode and not worry about previous plot points.

I liked the original Law and Order ever since it came out, and still watch it. I also like the spin-offs from it. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU) and Law and Order: Criminal Intent.

I like Criminal Intent because Vince Donofrio is the man- the whole show is him! He know everything and figures everything out by himself. Plus, he likes to turn his head to the side so when I'm laying on the couch, he looks like he's right side up!

Yeah, he has a way of getting into the criminal's head and playing them for a fool. With the exception of that one lady. I think she was from Australia and had married some rich dude. She killed someone and he was a dumbass and kept supporting her. I think she has been in at least two episode and has always gotten into Vince's character's head.

SVU is good too, but it's kind of exploitative- they go out of their way to find the sickest shit imaginable to have cases about...

I kind of hate New Year's- I always wait until that day to find something to do, and there is always this sense of desperation like "You MUST party". What if I'm not a party person? THE PRESSURE, THE PRESSURE!

I watched a weird episode of the regular Law and Order where this 10 year old girl killed a seven year old boy with a rock and then hid him in a drainage pipe.

One of the things I like about SVU is that they really show the human side of the detectives. They aren't just going out and solving cases. The cases actually have an effect on them and they sometimes have a hard time coping. I also like it because the detectives will sometimes say "Screw the law." and will do whatever it takes to solve the crime, short of doing something that will get them thrown into jail.

Law & Order is one of the few things I look forward to at work- which is where I was last night, ringing in the New Year with Jay and Conan... my girl did come and sit with me with until I got off at midnight, which was good. I told the guy who relieves me I was getting a kiss at midnight no matter what...

My night was just great. I have been feeling pretty anti-social lately, and I have refused to take any calls all this week (basically my only time off for months to come), so I went to bed around 7. I woke up at 11:30, just 'cause I was done napping, and stayed up to watch the ball drop, then watched television. Some friends tried to call me, but I turned my cell phone off, and didn't take any calls. I'm not always anti-social, but I'm through with putting myself in situations in which I know I will be very likely to smoke and get wasted. And, I'm not a cheapskate, but I'm tired of blowing my money with friends who make a lot more than I do, so I have to just avoid them sometimes.

Am I regretful? Nah, it's so much better to feel well rested. That reminds me, it's about time to hit the sack!

Hope everybody is okay, no tickets, no newly-spawned children, no unalterable mistakes, etc...
