It's me again, hyping my crap for the second week in a row.
Other than a new MONKEY MAN by Lynch and special guest-artist Eric Vinyard, up for Monday AM (well, up now, actually) is:
My ONE HAND CLAPPING (http://www.moviepoopshoot.com/onehand/index.html), wherein I can finally rip the shit out of THE REAL CANCUN, and also look at a new DVD on Crop Circles and hype some big Monkey Man to-do this week.
Also,
TV RECOMMENDATIONS, where I work out my frustrations at bad TV shows in the form of reallllly lame jokes (http://www.moviepoopshoot.com/tv/index.html)
and also
MAIL SHOOT, where I work out my frustrations at really lame e-mails with smart-ass comments. This one's pretty fun this week--got lots of good (and bad) e-mails from people: http://www.moviepoopshoot.com/mailshoot/index.html)
Yeah, it's all about me me me.

I so already read your column this afternoon..
I agree about The Real Cancun. It made me want to gouge my eyes out, but then I would catch myself laughing. I only wish I could have told any of them apart. I think the most fun part of the experience was the non-stop talking in the audience!
And I love the sneak peek of the New Monkey Man art too!

1) Great article this week Ryall. I almost avoided reading the first part because I couldn't care less about that movie. You constructed a very good review though and I stuck with you all the way until the end of it. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
2) Now I have to go buy a new DVD tomorrow.
3) Jon's work looks great.

Great clapping for a great One Hand Clapping
1. The Real Cancun - Lately, at 25, I have been feeling old enough. This movie will make me recall my college years (to a point), and unlike you who just wanted tequila, I may go through with it. Extreme props for not writing a flame piece, instead you took the high road. It may be as crappy as it looks, but you had enough class to give it a fair review.
2. Crop Circles: RB and I agree. The order will be placed.
<<I really want to believe things beyond the ordinary.>>
I find myself getting sucked into the empirical evidence trap. I consider myself a spiritual person wanting to find magic, but when opportunities present, I fall back on science. I really want to see this!
3. <<NEXT week, I'll get to BIGGIE AND TUPAC>>
Looking forward to hearing your opinion on this one. I caught Kurt and Courtney on Documentary Mondays (Sundance Channel). Seeing Nick Broomfield get up and rip Courtney Love was gutsy and long overdue. I am only a Nirvana music fan, and care little for celebrity gossip. This doc opened up a lot of questions for me.
On TV they are hawking Biggie and Tupac. The commercial is obviously catered to the typical Tupac/Biggie fan base (which is not me). I almost overlooked it until I heard that Nick Bloomfield was the documentarian.
Can't wait to hear your opinion next week.

This week's Mail Shoot also has a rare GBU reader email in there. It's not very complimentary, yet highly amusing.

Man Chris you a one-man-hyping-machine. Not only do you have your own topic hyping your shit. You hype your shit in somebody elses "hype my own article" topic. Not to say that your stuff is shit, the word just flows in this situation.

Did you post this on the wrong thread to prove your point? Brilliant!

I could not think of a clever way to make fun of this guy, but you, my friend, have succeeded greatly.

Well, we post off topic discussions in the column board, so why not let anarchy take over, or not take over as is the nature of anarchy. That last sentence gave me a headache.

"...why not let anarchy take over, or not take over as is the nature of anarchy..."
Well, 'cuz then anarchy leads to entropy and none of us want that. I'd settle for semi-coherent dadaism, actually.

Well, I guess that would still allow for free expression, but the interpretation is where it could come down. Not only could you argue a law, but the nature of what a law is in th efirst place. Actually, yeah, that'd be kind of cool. Whatever gets me Moksha...

So Chrispy,
"It's all about me me me," you say ?
Then nothing's really changed... /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
