I have a feeling I'll be spending Thanksgiving alone. Actually I do know that I will be spending tomorrow alone. Any ideas what one can do on a Thanksgiving by their lonesome?

Invite you good friends Jack, Jim, and Jose over... They are real party animals.

That's a tough one. When I have large amounts of time to spend alone, I either end up doing something creative or just watching movies. You could make a mini T-giving meal. Get a cornish hen or a small turkey, a small box of stuffing, some rolls and a sweet potato. That would be fun for me, but then again I don't get much alone time.

You could try and play GTA Vice City from start to finish in one day?

I know I could come up with better suggestions than this.

Thursday is my short day at work- I only have to come in for four hours to finish out my forty- but it's from 2pm to 6pm. I'd have to leave for work right in the middle of dinner and then I'd be getting back about the time everyone is packing up and walking out the door. I'm not sure I'm going to even bother with Thanksgiving... sit at home and play video games until I go to work and then come home and watch a movie and drink margaritas.

You could call up a food shelter, and spend Thanksgiving serving food to a bunch of homeless people. You won't be alone for sure, and you'll make some new friends!

....beat me to that one, focker!

I did this once and plan on doing it again. It's an invaluable experience.

I will actually be spending the holidays by myself. Things just worked out that way. I could go hang out with some family but I'm sick so I am staying home.

When I had to spend Thanksgiving alone, I went and spent the day at the movie theater. Saw a bunch of movies and got caught up. You can also rent a bunch of DVDs and stay in too.

I don't think I have ever been alone in my life. You know that scene in Jerry Maguire where all his ex-girlfriends talk about how he can't be alone? That's me. I never know what to do with my self. There's always that stigma of drinking alone, but that always seems like a good idea when I'm alone.

I will probably be studying for a test. Not much time for movies.

You're a better man than I, karma. I've never actually done it, because I'm always with my family, and we're thinning out these days. I will be doing some soup kitchen work during Christmas though, and I'm really looking forward to it. I've met some cool people on the brink of poverty (sadly a lot of them are vets), who have amazing stories to tell. I think everybody should do it at least once in their life.

Sorry I stepped on your toes, buddy. Being that I'm working at a food bank though, I had to represent /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

By the way, Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

I have spent many holidays alone, but I am used to entertaining myself (only child) so I just treat them like any other day.

Sometimes I get together with friends after they are done with their things. Sometimes I just buy a great book and read the whole damn thing. Sometimes movies. It all depends. It is the few times a year I figure I am entitled to be totally selfish and do NOTHING if I want.

Maybe you should make an effort to improve the orgaization of your computer music collection or something.

All good advice, people. Thanks. I don't think it will be so bad, though, since I am use to spending a lot of time by myself. I'm one of those types who can't stand family gatherings.

Don't be. I am around family every single day with them always in my business asking me if I am going to get married soon and have lots of kids, its annoying. Just have fun and know that you have the peeps on the shoot to cheer ya up when you are having a bad day. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Married? Lots of Kids?
Stop beating around the bush, of course I'll marry you.You dress up like a Vulcan and I'll dress like Gandolph. Then we have a Queen tribute band cover the music during the cermony. Also Hot Pockets of all colors and flavors after the wedding.

And for the wedding night...YOU dress like Big Bird and I'll bring the rain-stick

On the contrary. My family tends to annoy me more often than not.
