Yeah, I'm starting a thread about recipe swapping. I AM THAT [censored] MANLY! Don't even question my masculinity, bitch.

So here's a recipe for the most kick-ass Jello you will ever consume. Stir one cup of boiling water into gelatin in medium bowl at least 2 minutes until completely disolved. Then, instead of adding a cup od cold water, add one cup of vanilla ice cream. Mix it until the ice cream is all disolved. Then put it in the fridge for a few hours, 'til it sets real good. Then grab a spoon cause this stuff is good. It's all foamy and weird looking.

I recomend using strawberry Jello, but any kind will work.

Alright your turn. Give and take people, that's what this is all about.

I don't have any receipe's to offer, but if anyone is bbqing any part of their meal I can offer this:

Take a metal/aluminium can and fill it with water. Put it in the grill and pour the coals around it. When the goals start burning, the water will boil and it will keep your meat moist and juicy.

Remove the foil covering, microwave on high for 3 minutes, turn, and microwave for another 3. Be careful, as bottom of plate may be hot.

Under duress I ALWAYS keep the following things in my fridge. (For those people that show up you don't expect)

1 block of Velveeta
1 lb. of ground beef
1 jar of hot salsa

Throw all three in a crock pot and you are ready to rock. It is the least complicated appetizer in the world but it is always completely gone. Serve with Torilla Chips.

Other than that I have tons of actual thanksgiving recipes. I love to cook. If anybody is a cranberry sauce fan, I have a pretty great recipe for that...

It seems like the easy stuff is the best still. Father O'Brian's Funeral Potatoes is also a classic. I NEVER have left-overs.

I broke up with a boyfriend during my freshman year of high school, and let me tell you that isn't a very good comfort food. But, it is soo yummy. Thanks for the recipe again zens. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

That sounds good Zens! Another way to make it that is reallllly good!
1 block of Velveeta
1 lb sausage (like jimmy deans)
1 can of hormel chili no beans

Brown the sausage, add all three ingredients to a crock pot or slow cooker and put on med heat. Stir until cheese is melted and all is heated up. Turn down heat to low and keep warm. Serve with tortilla chips! It's yummmmy everyone always asks me to make it and bring it to parties. It even got me a job once! They asked me (this was seriously one of my interview questions) "If we have an office party, what would you bring?". I told them about this and later when I asked why i got the job they said because of the dip! lol

Another really good recipe that I have made in the past that is very much enjoyed by all is Scalloped Potatoes

Potatoes
Onion
Salt
Pepper
Parsley
2lbs white American cheese
Butter
Milk

Peel and slice your potatoes into thin slices (amount depends on how much you need)
Thinly slice onions, put a layer of potatoes sprinkle onions on them drop about 6 teaspoons of butter around evenly, sprinkle salt and pepper and parsley lightly around then add a layer of white American cheese. Repeat until you get to the top of the baking dish. End with a layer of cheese. Poor a small amount of milk over the top. Finally sprinkle a little more parsley on top. Bake in the oven on 350 for about an hour or more (time varies on amount you make) keep checking to see if potatoes are soft and all cheese is cooked. Start out with foil loosely over the top and remove for the last 15 - 20 minutes or so. ENJOY! This is definitely a crowd pleaser and is much easier than it sounds.

Well now, since we are getting into REAL recipes, see how this tantalizes your tastebuds. (At first it sounds wierd, but I made this last year and it was a HUGE hit.)

GrahamCracker crust, drizzled with caramel.

1 lb cream cheese, and either 8 oz REAL pumpkin filling, or the canned shit.

3-4 eggs
cup sugar
tsp nutmeg
tsp vanilla
pinch salt

back at 350 in a water bath for 1 hour to 1:15

TOPPING
whip cream dusted with Cocoa Powder and Powdered sugar mixture.

EDIT: The cake will not appear set at first, it will be slightly runny. DO NOT worry! Place in fridge for 4 hours or so.

This is a 1 way trip to tummy heaven!

Woah, woah, woah... are you saying Ice Cream Jello isn't a real recipe? Them's fightin' words.

Matthew

It depends....

We had Ice Cream jello when I was a child. We grew up very poor, and that was a special treat!

Yes it is a real recipe! I loved it!

Remembering, as i'm sure you do, that i Loath mayonaisse, this recipe may come as a shock. But i really really likes it. You'll Need:
Celery
Mayo
Cream Cheese
Pimento Stuffed Green olives

Cut your Celery Stalks into like 3 inch long pieces
Mix together the Cream Cheese and like a tablespoon or so of the mayo (this is the yuckiest part)
Give a rough chop to the olives then mix them in too.
Spead Olive/Cheese Mixture into Celery Canals.
then eat the hell out of those delicioius MoFos.

2 Cups - Whipping Cream *
1/2 Cup - Caramel or Butterscotch icecream topping *
1/2 tsp - Vanilla Extract
9 1.4 oz- Heath Candy Bars (chopped)
1 - Angel Food Cake

* - May use Cool Whip in place of these two items

- In a mixing bowl, beat cream until thick. Gradually add topping and vanilla. If using Cool Whip, fold topping into it.
- Cut cake into three layers. Spread whipped cream on layers
- Sprinkle crunched heath bars on each layer
- Stack layers on top of each other
- Cover cake with rest of whipped cream and sprinkle with crunched Heath Bars

Now, that is definitely a sweet tasting cake and I can't normally eat more than a small slice at a time, but it is heaven.

During summer vacation I'm home by myself a lot, so I'm forced to get off of my lazy ass and make my own lunch...one time my best friend was over, and my parents were gone, and my brother was asleep....as usual......but anyway....I made the most kick ass Macaroni and Cheese ever....not the shitty boxed stuff.

I cut up a bunch of velveeta cheese and put in a pan, then turned the heat up to about 300....poured in some milk....when that was all melted i added in garlic powder, some minced onion, ground mustard powder, salt and pepper, and randomly threw in some other seasonings as i usually do. I did all this WHILE I was boiling the water and preparing the noodles on another burner....

After the noodles and cheese sauce was done, i took them both off (stirring the cheese frequently because it tends to try to cool off a lot quickly) strained the noodles, put in a cup or so of milk(i think that was it) and about half a stick of butter and stirred that until the butter melted, then dumped all of the cheese sauce in....mixed it up then put it in bowls.........

THIS STUFF WAS FREAKING AMAZING!!!
if you try it get back to me and tell me what you think.

*Shakes fist at Atkins* Everyone seems to be on that diet. Including my family, I laugh at them though because while they're all wishing they could eat the foods they love I'm enjoying a big bowl of my special homemade Mac and Cheese. Jokes on them during the summer I lost more weight than them on my own diet. I call it the "No food in the house so I'll drink some Mountain Dew" diet....it really worked for me I lost 17 pounds.

I talked to my mom about Atkins today and she said she got sick of the food really quick, plus she said I couldn't eat salad? Is this blasphemy true?

My parents eat salads all the time and they are the ones that are on the diet. So I'm pretty sure they're just fine.

You can eat salads on the Atkins diet. That is one of the main things to eat. You just have to make sure you limit items in the salad that contain a lot of carbs.

Just bringing up an old dead thread to see what everyone's Turkey Day plans were. I'll be having the first holiday with the ol' Inlaws. So i'll be away from the shoot 'til Monday.

I'm moving. We sold our condo early this month and then frantically scrambled to buy a house. We are able to start moving our stuff in on Friday, then we close on Tuesday. Hasn't left much planning time for Thanksgiving.

Luckily, both my parents and the in-laws live here, so there shouldn't be a shortage of good food, just a shortage of time to eat good food.

Then you should have a "Moving Party" and get everything into the house quicker.

Already planned. We are having a condo goodbye party on Wednesday night, and then everybody has to help us move on Friday...or else.

I won't be around the Shoot until Monday, probably, so I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Hope all goes well and everyone has fun. Be safe tonight with the huge percentage of drunks on the road. It's snowing here right now -- we're planning on a possible 8 inches. All I needed was another reason to stay in the bar as long as possible.

Happy T-Day!

Oh and as far as my plans I am working. I 'll be home for dinner but other than that I will be working, or sleeping.

Anyway here goes a good one:

Ingredients:
18 eggs
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons yellow mustard
1 teaspoon finely chopped onion
3/4 teaspoon pickle relish
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Paprika, parsley or sliced olives for garnish

Directions:
Place the eggs in a large pot and add enough water to cover them; heat to boiling. When the water boils, remove the pot from the heat. Keep it covered and let sit for 20 minutes. Then drain the hot water and run cold water over the eggs. Let the eggs cool for 5 to 10 minutes.

Peel the eggs carefully, then slice in half lengthwise. Remove the egg yolks to a medium-sized bowl. Set aside the whites on a plate. Combine the rest of the ingredients w/ egg yolks, mix, place inside egg whites and eat!!!

Well, I know my daughter and I are making pumpkin pies, but we are forgoing the rest of the standard turkey day stuff. Neither of us wants turkey or ham. I might cook a couple of steaks, mashed potatoes, and corn to go with the pumpkin pies. Of course, she would be happy enough with just the pumpkin pies.

I was going to fix myself a turkey sandwich until just now, when I got invited to someone's house. Beats having to eat Arby's 2 years ago.

I must try to watch my Charlie Brown Thanksgiving DVD this year.

I thought this recipe might help anyone not wanting to over-eat after the Thanksgiving glutton fest:

Praline "Suprise":

3/4 cup "pure-cane" sugar
3/4 cup lt. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup pecans (chopped)
1 stick of butter
1 poop stick

Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. When it begins to stink throw away entire nasty mess.
This recipe is gauranteed to help you loose weight,
because you won't be hungry for the next three days.

Do you get the Poop Stick in the dairy section? is it with the Pillsbury Grands Biskets? Or is it in the freezer section? I must know so i can back that delicious recipe!

Don't waste your time in the dairy or frozen food section. Poop stick is best when fresh. http://www.jokingaround.com/images/pics/dump.jpg
