Can any of you tell me, what is the record for the usage of the word 'fuck' in a movie. I know that Goodfellas uses it 248 times(i think thats right) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back use it 228 times, and Scarface uses it 206 times. After finding this interesting info on imdb.com it got me curious of what the record is. Anyone know?? Please tell me.

I had always heard it was Goodfellas, so I am not sure what the official verdict is.

On a semi-related note, did you hear that the word "fuck" is now legal for use in prime-time televison under certain circumstances determined by the FCC? It had something to do with Bono and the Golden Globes...

well, back in 2001 during the 9-11 documentary (i think that was NBC, not sure)

One of the fire-fighters said "Mother F*cker".

According to the FCC you can use it as an "exclamation," i.e. [censored] great, [censored] fantastic, [censored] dreadful, etc. Oddly enough, you cannot use it in relation to what it means, sexual relations.

So just to clarify:
"[censored] great!" = OK.
"I was [censored] her great!" = Not OK.

Seems quite logical to me. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

The official FCC ruling was that the word "Fuck" could be, get this..."used on broadcast television as an adjective or expletive to emphasize an exclamation but it may not be used as a verb or in any manner associated with the description of sexual or excretory organs or activities." Your government, God help us, at work...

And in answer to your question, the record holders are:
1. South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut at 399
2. Casino at 395
3. Pulp Fiction at 271
4. Scarface
Goodfellas has, sadly, fallen to 5th place...

So then this

is not correct?

Nope...Scarface comes in at an impressive 260 even...I think the numbers got transposed somewhere along the line...

[/ QUOTE ] According to this, apparently well researched article (http://snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/f-word.asp) that isn't necessarily true. The FCC says they didn't actually change the rules at all, even though they allowed a 'fuck' during the Golden Globes. It may be another case of overreaction a la Tinky Winky's sexual orientation.

[/ QUOTE ] True, yet not true. Any time the panel hands down a decision that is contrary to or alters in any way, a previous ruling, they are in effect "changing the rules" in that broadcasters can now use this decision as a defense in future cases and precedence is cited. It is much like the court system in that way. They were basically saying that it's OK to use it as long as it doesn't cross the line they re-drew. It's an interesting way to get around the regulations without "formal" changes that might be unpopular with the general public.

The opening scene of "Way of the Gun" should at least get an honorable mention.

A great opening scene to a really horrible movie....sorry Mr. McQuarrie, but you can't direct. Go back to writing good movies like usual Suspects.

I agree completely. Way of the Gun had good acting too. By all rights it should have been a great movie. But it went wrong somewhere. At least Brian Singer has so far lived up to his Usual Suspects potential.

I heard it was the South Park movie, but that might have been for most in an animated movie. I didn't care enough to check.

I'm surprised South Park only leads by four. I could not stomach CASINO long enough to pay attention to its vulgarity.

I thought Casino was ok- it was the last time Sharon Stone showed me anything interesting....

I would have to say the most eff words were used in a movie was probably between Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction.

Does anyone know what the record is for the movie that has the most usage of the word 'the'?

Speaking of the South Park movie, Comedy Central is supposed to be airing it sometime this week....unedited. Yes, I said unedited. They do that sometimes with movies.

I want to watch that movie where they bleep out the bad words. I think that would be hysterical. It would be more bleeps than regular words.

I saw it on last night. It's going to be showing at 1 pm or 1 am I believe, for three days straight over Thanksgiving weekend. Check your local listings for more details!

I've always wanted to see an unedited movie. Just reels and reels of take after take, shown in shooting order. I think it would be a hoot.

How does Bad Santa weigh in? THat movie had a ton.

Okay! Uncut! Jesus Christ, some people just take things so literally.

Oh wait, I do that too....never mind.
