I had to respond to this and the thread has been closed. This is from the "crackers" thread, and I never got to reply or get any clarity about this, so...

Someone on there actually referred to black people as "darkies"? What era is this? If certain people are so unenlightened, still, that they need to throw those kinds of slurs around, well, they damned well better do it elsewhere because I won't put up with any of that.

Granted, it was in a joke in the Har-Har thread and the joke is more of a play on racism than racist itself, but I did it all the same. If this is at all because of me, I am wholeheartedly sorry. Not "Please don't boot me off the boards" sorry, but "I am one of the least racist people any of you could meet and I don't want to spread those feelings" sorry.

[/ QUOTE ] I really hope you're not talking about me. I dropped n-bombs in the thread about whether or not the phrase "under God" should be taken out of the Pledge but that was waaay different than a casual reference or general use. It was proving a point about the offensiveness of words.
I had to come back with this, but I hope it doesn't start this shit up again. I think I speak for most people here when I say this little Poop Shoot community we have going on here relies on kindness and tolerance (except for Family Guy -- whether I like it or not). Like I said, if I managed to spread any feelings or ideas that actually fueled racist tendencies or beliefs, that would be the antithesis of my intentions. Anyway, I just felt the need to post my stance on the matter.
