I quite enjoyed Fight Club. I liked the book better though.

I thought that they were quite similar, but I thought that Palahniuk's ending was lame. The movie version was much better. But they were both very good/unexpected. At least in little Colorado Springs, nobody expected anything from a movie about soap.

Hmmm... I liked the books ending better. I thought it had a more definative end to the story. To each his own, I guess.

It was, I thought a little lame. I have read 2 Palahniuk books FC and Choke and they were great, up until the ending. He just doesn't seem too good at wrapping things up.

Really good movie. Ed Norton is going to be a major star. But "best movie ever made"?
not by a long shot. Now, if you've only watched a few movies, i see where your coming from.
It's a mater of perspective.

I have it as my favorite movie at My Top 20 List (http://www.ymdb.com/user_top20.asp) . No matter how many times I see it, it is always enjoyable. It never gets old; I always seem to pick up new things each time I watch it.

Great movie. Not the best though. Overrated by some, underrated by some.

Very good film but there is never going to be a best movie ever unless the best movie ever is announced just before the holocaust and then people get killed so a new best ever move is never made. ANyway I already knew norton would be a good actor after seeing him in American History X, but man one thing this film has over others, MEATLOAF WITH BOOBS /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

The first rule of Fight Club:
Don't see Fight Club.

MEATLOAF WITH BOOBS

I love Meat Loaf...and yes, he's even cooler with boobs.

I really liked 'Fight Club'. I've only seen it once, though. I need to watch it again. I thought the ending was [censored] fantastic...but personally, I'd rather be crazy...although the last line of the movie was hysterical. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

It really hurts your arguement when you call everyone who dissagrees a horse cock-sucker. Perhaps if you organized your reasons for why you think Fight Club is the best movie ever you might get some people who haven't previously considered it to consider it, but with that attitude, all you're going to get is what you give, childish retorts. So [censored] you, [censored]!

I love Fight Club. It is a movie that, if you have read the book, you must clear the mind before seeing or you will hate it.

I disagree... Fight Club is a very good movie but I think Ferris Bueller's Day Off is the best movie ever!!!! /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

In agreement with you about the book. I liked the book, loved the movie, Palahniuk was a bit all over the place themetically, I thought the movie did a fantastic job of focusing the books narrative and tying things together, plus it has the added layer of an excellent visual interpretation on top of that.

In the top 20 best ever, but not the best ever. Norton is a great actor, but I really just don't like him(Not as an actor, as a person). At the risk of being called a sphincter burner, I think Pitt is the shit. As far as acting ability goes, he is everything that Keanu wishes he could be.

Shit, I'm not even supposed to be talking about this.....

It's all over, you broke the first rule.

Anti-Ed? Ed Norton is a actor I cannot watch enough. From Primal Fear to American History X to Fight Club he keeps me impressed. Yes, I even enjoyed his turn as a dancing, singing geek in Everyone Says I Love You. Sad but true.

You say you don't like him "as a person". My celebrity person quotient is pretty low, so you may be right. I am still going to check out the Italian Job when it comes out, in spite of Marky Mark and his funky bunch being involved.

[/ QUOTE ] I am not really sure what a "sphincter burner" is, but I agree that Brad Pitt is an awesome actor. Ed Norton is great as well.

Brad Pitt is indeed the Shit. He shined early as Floyd in True Romance, in fact i just watched Kalifornia the other day. A great early Pitt film. "This trips gone to hell since we ran out of Luckie Lager."

Not to mention that old oooold one with him and Ricky Schroeder where they played brothers who ran track against each other or something. Or am I the only one who ever saw that?

Another okay role of his was with Juliette lewis, pre Kalifornia and maybe her acting debut, a TV-movie called "Too young to Die"

Last night I had to stay up in order to flip flop my schedule (some jackass quit at work and I gotta pick up his overnight shift... f***ing savages) But to my point- I had myself a Brad Pitt film festival going all night, started out with Se7en, then Fight Club, then Kalifornia, then The Mexican, then I found my Twelve Monkeys VHS tape while rearranging the apartment. A lot of people I know think Pitt is just a pretty boy, but I really enjoy his films. He plays really well off who ever his co-star is and he does play some varied roles. I'm not a big Ed Norton fan either, but Fight Club is a movie I can watch again and again and again. I do agree with a previous posts that the ending in the book just didn't seem to tie it all together. It seemed like Chuck got to the final chapter and just threw some shit on the page and sent to the publisher. Kind of a let down for what was up to that point a very engaging and well written book.
Next week, if they haven't hired a replacement for that punk-ass *&%$#@, I'm planning a Kurt Russell festival.

The Rusty Ryan character from Ocean's Eleven is my hero man. Pitt just lived that part, he is our generation's Bogart. He, and probably Clooney too, are just those throwback type movie stars when they are on screen. They are so intentional cool it's almost tacky but yet it's not. Brad rocks, I'm glad you agree.

PS: A sphincter burner is one who gives or takes [censored] in the butt.
