Johnny Depp actually followed Hunter S. Thompson and copied almost all of his manuerisms for the movie FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS.
Another one: I am of the opinion that Johnny Depp was a good actor all along, but Pirates is skyrocketing him over what all Depp fans will agree wasn't his best work.

Agreed !!
I remember JD in Platoon and Nightmare on Elm Street. But i think my fave Johnny Depp role was in Donnie Brasco, I am not a gangster movie fan but i loved JD in that flick.
Pirates is just a bigger canvas to paint his wonderful work, i thought he dominated the Once upon a time in Mexico movie!
The Greatest number of retakes without dialogue:
342 shot by Charlie Chaplin for City Lights!! *

Few people have the ability to shake the stigma of having been the 'pretty face' on a show like 21 Jump Street. In fact, if he wasn't quite so good looking he probably would have received a lot more respect as an actor than he has.

In Pulp Fiction, when Butch is going back to get his watch he walks by a car with an open window, you can hear a story on the radio about a trophy being stolen Jack Rabbit Slim's. I guess Mia and Vincent Vega didn't really win it afterall, they stole it.
I can't be 100% sure this is true, but will check it out.

Ninth Gate is one of the few Polanski movies I could get through. Not saying they're bad. Just not my cuppa.
Martin Sheen's hotel breakdown in Apocalypse now was legit.
Bob on Twin Peaks was cast after a techie was accidentally caught in a mirror in one shot, and Lynch thought it looked perfect and creepy.

Longest ever gap between a movie and its sequel; 46 years (the Wizard of Oz and the Return to Oz)
United Artists was co-founded by Charlie Chaplin.
The phrase 'see you next Wednesday' is heard, or seen in 11 John Landis movies.
The original working title for the first Star Wars draft was The Adventures of Luke Starkiller (Maybe RB can confirm, or correct if this is wrong)

Guess they didn't want to freak out the next generation.:o

I like movie myths like this and had actually never heard of this one before. Just seen the scene in question and it’s a bird flapping its wings in the background. Interesting though.
I like the whole Ghost Boy image in 3 Men and a Baby. That’s definitely not a cardboard cut-out of Ted Danson!

I hate to burst the ol' bubble, but it definitely is. It's a publicity standee for a movie his character (he plays an actor after all) is in.

Dude, I don’t know. I know people say it’s a cut-out, but check the comparing pics in this link.

There’s clearly no hat on the first pic, nor are his arms spread wide like in the close up. Plus the shirt is tucked in in the first pic, but not the second. Perhaps the myth of a ghost is going over the top, but they are definitely not the same figures.

How can you tell?! The curtain is covering the part that could show whether his arm is out or not

Ye think?as and old saying goes..."people fear what they DON'T UNDERSTAND...and OBVIOUSLY...you don't. And if you HAVE to be so technical, clearly...if you look at both pics, the curtains aren't as opaque as you think they are slightly trasparent and the "person in question," does NOT even look like the cut-out on the right...EVEN A MORON COULD SEE THAT...*wait*...oh nevermind.:) As for those who don't FEAR...I believe there are things in this world that CAN'T BE EXPLAINED by science, religion, or technology. Your RIGHT RB...it was his best for the year.:D

In Star Wars: A New Hope, a stormtrooper hits his head on the top of the door when walking through a doorway.
In a nod to this accident Lucas included a scene in SW2 of Jango Fett hitting his head on the doorway of his ship.

For the Star Wars fans;
This may be old news to some of the more knowledgable fans, but I had no idea, and after watching it, I thought it was a nice little move by Lucas:
From Wikipedia: 'When Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Palpatine arrive via shuttle to the Senate docks after crash landing on Coruscant, the Millennium Falcon can be seen landing on one of the lower platforms as the shuttle approaches.'
I had to zoom x1 to get a good look (probably because I need glasses) but it's there!
