Did anyone catch "Intolerable Cruelty" this weekend, or did you all run to "Kill Bill"? It proves yet again; the Coen's are the masters of dark comedy. Now they add "slightly sadistic date movie" to that master category.

Nope, haven't seen it Zen, but I can tell already that those two have pretty good chemistry. Think it's worth seeing in the theatre, or just a rental?

I wasn't gonna see it until I found out the Coen's have their hands on it. All I saw were trailors on TV and I thought ahh fuck NARC "Not another romantic comedy."

So tonight I am off to do a double.

Don't know about the chemistry between the two. But remember the one with J-Lo?

George Clooney + Jennifer Lopez = Good chemistry?

Yeah, right. Maybe in some whacked up chemistry experiment.

I will have to wait for video on that one- it just doesn't seem "Coen-ish" enough for my tastes. I like sick, twisted movies that are character-and-dialogue driven, and IC looks more like a baby boomer date movie.

If I could describe IC I would say it is a "sick, twisted [movie] that [is] character-and-dialogue driven". Plus it is hysterical and typically Coen. This is not a warm fuzzy kind of date movie at all.

Agreed. It's a clever marketing gimmick to get in those folks who usually see a trailer for a Coen movie and think "That looks too artsy."
