View Full Version : Gov. Arnold?
So, it looks like he won.
Hmmm...
If we could just get the rest of the cast from "Predator" to run in other states...

And where did you hear that he won? I haven't heard anything. Well, it isn't like I am watching News anyways. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
It's on the twenty-four hour cable news feeds.

I just read it on yahoo.com. I was cleaning my hamster cages out and watching Monsters Inc. At 8:30, 11:30 est, they are showing Arnold when he was on the dating game. I am just waiting for one of the contestants to come on the news and say arnold touched them improperly. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Ok, this is a serious question, I'm not joking at all. Why is Arnold anymore qualified to run the state than Gary Coleman? Seriously.

Well, at first it was a joke to have coleman run for ca gov. and then he kinda got into it. But, Arnold did win the popular vote.
And I was talking to some people that I know and they said that I am only 2 inches taller than coleman. How tall is he anyways?!

Why is anyone more qualified than anyone else to do a job they have never done before? You are asking a question that has no meaning now. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

A man wins public office, having no stance on any issue. All he has is the novelty factor and the celebrity factor.
Oh my gott!
In the past, celebs could get by with notoriety and a platform. Eastwood, Reagan, Ventura. Now we have a popularty contest the likes of which I haven't seen since high school. Jock gets votes. Flint, like him or not, had a platform. He didn't even get a proper spot on the ballot.
The worst part is, instead of being upset I find it hilarious. Politics are absolutely crumbling. What gets somebody into office is ludicrous, and yet I have more confidenc ein Arnie. He wasn't raised a politician, doesn't have goals of personal gain, isn't the type to be bullied. He grew up poor, became wealthy of his own accord, and now wants to do something for the community.
This is what used to be the origin of anybody seeking office. Seriously, if he had stood for anything he would be an ideal pick. Oh, and if he wasn't dumb enough to think "Eraser" was a good script. What scares me now is that his agenda is completely open, and people empowered him blindly to put it in motion.
Screw Survivor. This will be a reality show worth watching. "California!" Watch next week as our main man tries to comprehend offshore drilling. "Oh my gott! Zey can't doo dat! Zey zey zey are Repooblichanz, for zeh ztate rightz! Zeh have to respect our lahs! Ve vill not aczept our beachez vef ze oohyil and ze polluzhun!" Can't friggin wait.

I think politics work exactly the way the people want them to, and in this case everything has gone EXACTLY as the "people" demanded. Whether some of us like it or not this is how "the system" works. If Arnold screws up then he will be voted out, removed, or stoned. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

They have to first get the signatures to even start the recall. But hey, if they can do that then more power to them. Bring on recall 2.0!

I read somewhere that CA law says that they have to wait six months between recalls. So, somebody could start gathering sigs now and have them ready in six months...probably would be quicker than trying to go through the legal battles that are sure to come.

I had a breakfast burrito this morning. I also had coffee and orange juice.
There is a box of Kleenex on my desk, along with a blue Swingline stapler.
A polar bear's fur isn't white. It's actually clear.
Under ideal conditions (completely flat surface, perfectly dark), the human eye would be able to see a match flair 50 miles away.
These are only a few of the interesting things I could think of posting.

I don't think California will be having another recall again anytime soon. It put us in more debt, but this one needed to be done. We needed to get davis out of the office because he screwed up California so bad, that we needed someone else to get in there. Arnold was the best choice canidate for the race because he hasn't been in politics has the only Ca Gov to get us in the 'black' and has advisors to help him out with understanding how the Governorship works. To be honest, he is a very smart man, and I think he can do it. I just think that people need to give the man a chance and see what he can do for us. I say Bring it on and Go Arnie!

Someone e-mailed me today that Sonny Landhan, the Indian guy from Predator, ran for governor of Kentucky but withdrew in June 2003, citing money and organizational problems. No idea if that's true, but it sounds right. Which just means we gotta get Carl Weathers elected...somewhere other than California, preferably. Maybe Pennsylvania--they love him in Philly.

In Illinois we should run the Rick Nielsen/Billy Corgan ballot. Lots of good campaign slogans and songs like "I Want You to Want Me" and "Tonight Tonight". They could get really pissed off, smash podiums, and stuff.

Now that the roles have switched, perhaps we'll have groups of politicians making movies. I'd pay to see Ocean's 12 starring a new ratpack, formerly known as the Green Party!
