Today's Toybox column covers the newest exclusive (that's not so exclusive) from my current favorite line - the Palisades Tour Animal! Looks alot like I do on Sunday morning.

Great review. I love the Muppet figures (and the Muppets) but I hate variants. The obsessive compulsive in me needs to hunt down each and every available figure out there, but it's usually a pointless change like a shirt or hat being painted a different color. There is a superhero Scooter variant that looks cool, but "orange shirt-ed Zoot"? Come on, that's just gauging the fans.

I used to be big on figures, but nothing has peaked my interest much in the last few months. But when I started checking out your reviews, I saw some cool stuff I had lost track of. I took another look at the muppet line, and I'm thinking of picking a few up. The Animal from this weeks review looks pretty cool.
Also, I'm curious, what do you know about the new Matrix figures that are being released by McFarlane? Spawn.com has some pics, but I was wondering if you have any inside info.

Did you see the new Twisted Wizard of Oz McFarland figures?
If not, they're right here. (http://www.spawn.com/toys/series.aspx?division=toys&category=horror&series=m onsters2)
Its some impressive artwork, but man does that company have problems, like a couple skeletons and a dead baby in their closet. They're good at sick artwork, but when they toy around with something so innocent it just raises the bar on shock value

Demo - not much scoop on the Matrix stuff. McToys wasn't at Toy Fair this year, and has worked less and less with the independent press.
I'll be reviewing at least one of the large sets though - they look great, although they are definitely statues.
