This movie is the biggest piece of crap in theatres today. I can't believe they gave rob zombie the right to make a film. Rob zombie is a complete nutcase. The movie lacked in everything a movie needs to have to make it a movie. It was a really disturbing and stupid movie. It's like they gave a 14 year old insane kid a camera, fake bodies & fake blood. I'm really glad I downloaded it instead of paying for it. If I had payed for this movie I would be extremely pissed off and would have demanded a refund. If your retard go see this movie, if your not stay away from it.

it was a real story that happened in new york stupid . the cyborgs were add on's that was the only problem

See, I didn't think it was disturbing ENOUGH. I wanted it to be...it had a fun set-up, inasmuch as it was a total rip-off of Last House on the Left and Chainsaw Massacre--but that's okay--I don't think the movie was trying to hide those influences.
I thought it got off to a good start, and little touches like the goofy music during the couple intense (but not intense enough) scenes was fun. Still, the only real mayhem seems to have gone on in the editing room. I'd love to see the movie that Rob originally made to see if it were any better. Where was the gore, dammit?

I had heard that the initial cut was rated NC-17 and that drastic changes had to be made to get it down to R. Apparently, the home release will be the initial cut. That's all according to rumours though, take it for what it's worth.

No, that's all true--that's why it's taken Universal forever to release the thing. I just feel like they cut too much out of it to make it interesting.

As if the current rating helped it make any more money than an NC-17 rating would have?

Actually, Lions Gate put it out, and some theater chains don't carry NC-17. Since some areas only have chain theaters, it wouldn't have been able to get a wide release. It's pulling in a decent per-screen average, and the buzz has been a lot of love it or hate it, but it should make a fair mint on DVD.
And despite its weirdness and borrowing (or maybe because of it) I friggin loved it.
Razorback
04-16-2003, 09:10 PM
You have a point... $5,816 per screen average. That's close to "Phone Booth" numbers.
RB
I LIKED it!!! Cheesy horror and Sherri Moon's bare ass cheeks... and the Betty Boop number... creepy, yet strangely arousing. The movie wasn't nearly what I expected. While less than satisfying on a personal level, the gore was sufficiant for a chain-multiplex theater. The ending down in the catacombs did remind me a lot of a NIN video. And being that the last time I saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre I was only ten, I have a hard time comparing the two. (do need to watch it again...) I am really looking forward to the release of the disc and the opportunity to see this flick in it's full glory.

...it couldn't be worse than Bulletproof Monk. Man was that crummy. I saw it so I could review it for Slush Factory, and I expected it to be pretty mediocre, but even I was surprised by how bad it was.
Then again, I haven't heard anything but bad things about House of 1000 Corpses either. The battle for crummy movie dominance is going on in your movie theater right now!
Go see Bend It Like Beckham instead if you can find it by you.

Is Rob Zombie even in the movie? i have yet to see it. every film director has a rough start though. hell, it can't be any worse than the Rock in The Mummy Returns or the Scorpion King. now that's some bunk acting.

Now that was a horrible piece of crap i have ever seen. I was so excited at first ..because to be honest...the title was a big teaser...especially the statement where it was prevented to be seen at first on theaters. Was getting ready to be thrilled and horrified..but then again after that...especially with Rob Zombie directing and being in the movie himself was the craziest thing ever. It was a waste of money but to be able to critique that kind of movie..its overrated.

Yes Rob is in the movie. He plays on the of the henchmen at the start of the movie. Not the bank robbers but the Tv shows host Henchmen. I think its a total 1 second of screen time. But cleary the Clown was supposed to be Rob Zombie.

Who knows, Is there anyway to "backtrack" a link, from here to whereever it's coming from? I'll bet it's a Rob Zombie fansite.

But why would a Rob Zombie fansite post a link to a post that is mostly made up of negative reviews?
Well the way i read it, it wasn't really negative reviews as much as people besmerching the interferance of the studio. But agian, who knows, that's why i wonder if there is a way to backtrack the thing to its source.

I agree with you, all Rob Zombie movies suck, I didn't get through the entire thing because I found it so terrible. There wasn't any sadistic violence from what I saw, which was the only reason I wanted to watch it, I didn't get too far into it either so that's probably my problem.

Sorry, just found this thread. Anyway, it was never in theaters. It was straight to DVD. I bought it, and I'm completely fine with it. It wasn't the best ever, but who expected it to be? I like it, and continue to watch it late at night every once and a while. Skip a scene here and there and you have a perfectly enjoyable late night horror movie.

Dammit, the internet has made a fool of me again. I read it went straight to DVD because of "excessive violence". I definitely didn't believe the excessive violence thing, but I thought the straight-to-DVD thing was true. Anyway, sorry for the wrong info.

The first preview I saw for House of 1000 corpses was when Bride of Chucky was in theaters. That was a LONG time ago. They kept changing it basically cuz well, it was too scary. The fact that it wasn't up to its full potential pisses me off. Devil's rejects made up for it a little, but I would still love to see house of 1000 corpses how rob intended it to look.

Normally, i hate anything and everything that has to do with anime. It's where the japanese go full retard. Unquestionably.
Especially the scat-tastic rantings of pok-a-man or dragonback mountain z.
But I saw a clip on tv once of that cat and laughed. He's a particular conniving shit. I hope he eventually kills all the other characters.
