I think the real question is, who saw the horrible horror cult movie, Christmas Evil?

matthew_almeida
09-18-2003, 07:41 PM
please at least try to stay on topic...there was no sequel to Christmas Evil...and Christmas Evil was an incredible movie...the writer was genious..and not only that it was so scary that childrens parents rallied to have it banned from theater or video and so only very few copies exsist.

sinfrost
09-18-2003, 07:43 PM
No, man. You got it all wrong. There's so little amount of copies because it's so crappy and no one wants to see it and name ONE flick the writer has done after the dissapointment of Christmas Evil. Face it. It was horrible.

Dave, Hook is a sequel. It is the second installment to Disney's Peter Pan and tells the tale of Peter all grown up. It is considered a sequel because it is a continuation of something.

Personally, X-men 2 was by far the best. Blade 2 wasn't too shabby, neither was the sequal to the first Austin Powers (fuck Goldmember up his stupid ass). That's about it though...sequals usually blow.

I disagree with Hook being a sequel. It may be the story of an adult Peter Pan, and also released by the Walt Disney Company, but that doesn't make it a sequel to the Animated Peter Pan. Would LXG be consided a sequel to Tom Sawyer, Dracula, King Solomons Mines, etc., because it continues the Tales of those Characters? If Disney put out a Film Version of Bill Willingham's Fables, would it be considered a sequel to it's many animated fairy tales? i submit that it would not, That it is a seperate movie, that may take some inspiration from the earlier work, but is not a sequel in the true sense of the word.

Don't get caught up with such technicalities. It's so.....trivial.

So Dave, I see that you are no longer mentioning 'Bama football in your signature.

Northern Illinois 19, Alabama 16.

Ouch.

Not that I can talk, the two teams that I follow are CU and Notre Dame.

Double ouch.

WOO HOO!!! I am an NIU alumnus myself, and I hate to rub it in, but Holy Shit that is cool.

The truly funny part is how bad NIU football has been up until now. My boyfriend in college was a starting linebacker for the Huskies and they didn't win a single game the whole season. It was so bad that I stopped going to watch him play because I couldn't sucker any friends to go with me.

Now we finally are doing something! Sorry Dave, I can't contain the excitement. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I concur with Dave.

And of course it's trivial. Practically everything we talk about here is trivial. We are movie geeks after all.

Dave
09-22-2003, 03:45 PM
I actually took the scores off on Friday, but yeah, Those Pesky dawgs came down to Tuscaloosa and bit us but good. Hats of to NIU, they played a great game, Alabama on the other hand couldn't get our offense going at all. Maybe now the Tribune will give you guys some coverage (I heard the rant on Chicago non-coverage whilst lurking on an NIU board last week). I however take full resposiblity for the loss, since i had tickets and didn't go, thereby causing the loss by my absence from Bryant Denny Stadium. Anyway, congrats. Dammit.

Zens_7s
09-22-2003, 05:44 PM
It always seemed strange how Chicago ignored NIU athletics, even though 85% of the campus is Chicago raised people and it is only 20 min. out of the south suburbs. Maybe you are correct and those Huskies will finally get some coverage. Just for you Dave I will root for the Crimson Tide next game.

On a totally unrelated topic, all this talk of Huskies reminds me of the movie State and Main..."Go you Huskies!"

I thought Santa Clause 2 was just what it was supposed to be, light and fluffy like the old man's beard. I'll admit that it wasn't a nessecary sequel (if there is such a thing) but i kind of liked it. a pleasant family film.
