Wow, pretty good opening weekend for movies this week- nothing under 65 % on Rottentomatoes.com.

We haven't had a weekend this good in a while- you've got a dark comedy in Matchstick Men, a horror film in Cabin Fever, and a romantic/action movie in Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

Something for everyone except the kids. I for one appreciate 2 of the movies (I may have to see the first 2 tonight), especially after the drivel we've been handed the past few weeks.

Go Hollywood!

I am looking forward to seeing Matchstick Men because Sam Rockwell is an amazing actor and I love his work, and Once Upon A Time in Mexico well because of the obvious Johnny Depp and Antonio should be an awesome combination on the big screen. I am seeing 'Mexico' tonight with some friends, so I am crossing my fingers and hoping it is good!

I am looking forward to Once Upon a Time in Mexico this weekend.

Last night I took myself to see Dirty Pretty Things. I ended up being totally alone in the theater.

I have no idea what movie I should go see first. I will probably wait until Monday to hit the theaters so I can wait and hear what everyone else thinks is best.

And if you can find it near you, you gotta check out Lost in Translation. Bill Murray is awesome.

Do you think he'll get award notice for it? That seems to be all the talk when that movie is mentioned. I plan on checking it out ASAP. I don't know about anyone else, but I think Murray was genius in Rushmore.

Agreed, Karma- Rushmore is one of the better movies ever made, and Bill Murray is a perfect fit for his role.

Personally, I think that movie was amazingly well cast. Murray is warlord, Jason Schwartzman is perfect, same with Brian Cox, and WHO IN THE WORLD wouldn't fall in love with Olivia Williams?? I think Jack Lemmon said it best in The Odd Couple when he said "FNEH!!"

I haven't seen Matchstick Men, but thoroughly enjoyed Cabin Fever and Mexico. They're both fun and clever. THey aren't life changers or anything, but definitely fun. The last couple minutes of Cabin Fever put a huge smile on my face.

I think I'll see it quicker if they use the Camper Van Beethoven song.

Pirates of the Carribean is really good. Though it may drag on, don't give up on it. The ending is worth it.

I agree, Pirates is a great movie. And it is slow because it is the beginning picture. I consider it the Harry Potter way of making pictures. The first one was slow because it was introductory and the second one was just way better with the action and the storyline. Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom make a great pair of actors.
