Shit, I'll come clean. I lied. I have never had a Whopper, and I don't eat fast food burgers of any kind.

Sorry, I told a Whopper. Can we still be friends?

About the original post made on this. It seems like all the time these new things are made online. Well let me just say to you, how [censored] strenuous is it to write out the goddamn [censored] words on the goddamn [censored] screen? BK (Which I am guessing means because) is just more Computer lingo so that you twelve year old [censored] can be all like "haha, you didn't know that you're a [censored] idiot." Well your a [censored] [censored], you uber-lazy [censored]!

Yeah I feel you psychofiend. All these little punks think they're cool, that they have something on us 20-somethings. God help the dictionary writer people 30 years from now.

Anyway, on a lighter, more happier, fast food-related note, has anybody heard? Wendy's will start accepting credit cards as of November 10th!

I can see my car rolling up to the window now...

"Yes, I'd like 10 Triple Stacks, please."
"...Ten? Please, sir, it's 1:55 AM, we've already closed down the grills! Have mercy!"
"It's November 10th now, isn't it?"
"Yes..."
"I want my Triple stacks!"
"Coming right up, sir."

Hey Psychofiend, you heard who's coming to the Orpheum on October 23rd?

Wendy's in Colorado has always accepted credit cards. I refuse to shop anywhere that does not take credit cards. If they can't offer me the convience of accepting my credit card, I can't offer them the convience of giving them my money.

The only fast food restaurant I've noticed 'round these here parts that accepts credit/debit cards is Arby's. Back when I was in a bout of non-vegetarianism, that's one of few fast food places I would eat and that's why. But it's like Ralph said on the Simpsons

"I'm so hungry, I could eat at AAAAAAAAAAAAARBY'S!"

EternalStrife
09-12-2003, 04:31 PM
Heh? You're a vegetarian? I'm a borderlining vegetarian myself.

jjcourtright
09-12-2003, 04:31 PM
That line comes up pretty much anytime we are heading out to dinner. Usually modified to "Are you so hungry you could eat at Arby's."

I can't eat at Arby's anymore. I named my baby kitten after the resturant chain and can't find myself to go there and see the name on the side of the building. It is so sad.

I tried to give up meat from my diet, but I do not have the will-power to say no. But, I am trying.

The biggest issue is making sure you still get a large amount of protein. The first time I gave up meat, that's all I did. I ate a lot of pasta, all kinds of vegetables, and whatever I thought didn't have beef, chicken or fish in it. Not only did I gain a bunch of bad weight, I was tired all the time and felt like crap. Then I learned.

EternalStrife
09-12-2003, 05:49 PM
Well if you're going to get rid of meat altogather (though I don't see why anyone would want to), tofu and beans are a good source of protein. Bland though the tastes are. I myself, occasionally become a vegetarian two days out of every month.

For every person who goes on the Atkins diet, one of us has to go Vegetarian to keep the balance in the force.

So who's it gonna be, me or you, EternalStrife? Or shall we just eat Beans together like nice little kids?

EternalStrife
09-12-2003, 05:54 PM
Beans rule all. All bow down to the almighty empire of the bean. The bean cometh and taketh.

I'm a nice little kid.

[/ QUOTE ] This is not at all to say this is for everyone, but as soon as I was away from meat for a week I started losing weight and feeling better than "normal." Even then, if I would lapse and eat a piece of chicken, beef or especially anything dairy, I'd be fuck'd up all day -- stomach gurgles and everything.

I get the same thing too. But it's only when I eat spicy food.

Zens_7s
09-12-2003, 06:01 PM
Oh lord I love spicy food. What's hard is learning to cook bland foods when people who don't like spicy food come over. Nothing tastes right while you are making it, and I have to fight the urge to throw in more of something.

My father-in-law will drive 4 hours here for the weekend when I am making anything cajun/creole. His wife won't even try it and threatens to douse the whole family in Prilosec.

See, spicy I can do. In fact, the hotter the better.
Just goes to show not everyone is the same, although I do love beans. I can make a mean batch of hummus. Hormel actually makes a really awesome vegetarian chili.
I know I'll maintain a vegetarian diet for life now. I'll eat a little meat here and there probably, but I feel better in every way now that I'm veggie. I'm finally back down 25 lbs to just barely over my ideal weight. The other day, I was like "Abs! I can see my abs!!" And there was much rejoicing.

My pasketti sauce isn't so much "spicy" as it is "tangy," but that's by design. My burgers, they get spicy. At optimum levels (for close friends cookouts, small dinners) the burger will require copious amounts of beer.

I don't believe wings are worth eating unless they end in sweat and tears.

Zens_7s
09-12-2003, 06:26 PM
Well you and I would have no problem eating together. There is nothing I love more than super-spicy wings and really cold Corona for a Friday lunch. Hmmm...sounds suspiciously like what I had earlier today.

Oh man. It is hard for mexicans to give up meat (well, in my experience). I mean, if I go to my aunts house, all they have is carne asada, beans, rice, or chorizo, beef soup (i am not even going to try to spell the spanish verson. It is really sad, I don't know much spanish), etc. And my aunts will give you the puppy dog eyes if you don't eat their meat, and I cave in..

What i am really trying to get rid of drinking is soda! Any suggestions? Can't stand coffee..So don't mention it.

People who practise Buddhism are not allowed to eat beef. The more dedicated of them do not eat anykind of meat. They even consider garlic to be non-vegetarian food.

I found one place that has a $3 dozen wing combo, and $1 domestics. The wings require 1 beer to each wing. I let friends sample. Each could only do a single wing, so I made it through the other 7 on my own. When I was done I'd found my spirit animal.
