House of the Dead

Looks like a good-zombie flick, but looks pretty corny. One of the main characters looks like a rip-off of Ash (Evil Dead), they all look like they kill all the zombies, and apparently the big-breasted chick knows how to handle a shotgun. I know nothing about the video game series, all I anticipate is that 99% of the crew dies!

You've never played the game? Oh man, you missed out. If the movie is anything like the game, it should be corny. But it's the kind of corny that's addictive and annoying at the same time.

I'll probably end up seeing the movie and hating myself for it.

Actually I have played the arcade game where you sit there and shoot the zombie [censored] and it is a good game with a pretty good plot, i spent 2 hours and $20 on it when Jillians had it.

house of the dead 2 is graphically much better, get that instead. and I think the voice acting better. These are much better than the crappy resident evil lightgun games. Kinda plays like virtua cop/time crisis but with tougher enemies.

This one was just lame...looked sub-Resident Evil. And where were the cool flying bat-type things from the video game? Or the worm-things with the big teeth?

House of the Dead screened awhile ago, the only news is that it's finally being picked up for wide release. IGN ran a review of the movie, and they said it was pretty horrible. Apparently, for every scene of gore, a clip of the game is mixed in so you never fully see any of the deaths. I also remember hearing the bullet time effect was overused to a point where every character has their own bullet time scene. The only hope for the movie is that its been re-edited into a better film over the past few months.
