I love all three--The Mars Volta is probably the best CD I've bought this year. I like Sparta, too, although that disc is a little more, I don't know, ordinary or straight-forward or whatever. The Mars Volta just works better for me. I think it's pretty cool that a band I liked a lot, At the Drive In, could break up and then become TWO pretty damn good bands.

What kind of music is Mars Volta? Sounds like something worth checking out.

its basically just arty prog-rock (at least thats what rolling stones described it as). in case anyone cares.

I put "Son Et Lumiere" and "Televators" on my August mix tape. And I beat myself in the head a few times for orginally dismissing them as Rush knock-offs.

ya...i like both of those, but feel that those are more their mediocre songs. take the veil is amazing...it makes me get these spine tingling sensations every time i listen to it. then i usually hump random objects...but we won't get into that.

[/ QUOTE ] Wow, you actually listened to me?
I really dig "Deloused". I just listened to ATDI for the first time yesterday. Meh. I just didn't find it very interesting. But, I can't listen to Mars Volta enough.
