So, what's anyone think of this? He's...very big. And pleasantly busty!

I like that there's going to be quiet, tranquil scenes of the Hulk... not just the Hulk busting up tanks.

Anyone else feel that they borrowed to heavily from Shrek? Does this Hulk also have a sassy donkey sidekick? Is that who the lady is? If so, she doesn't appear to be nearly sassy enough for my taste. And why the hell is he so glum? Buck up, your the Hulk!

Ryall

He better eat some friggin' beans in this movie, that's all I have to say. Hulk like beans, dammit, and Gale Anne Hurd would do well to remember that.

>Anyone else feel that they borrowed to heavily from Shrek?

Amazingly, Nick Nolte is made up to look just like Michael Eisner in this, too.

>Does this Hulk also have a sassy donkey sidekick?

That's no way to talk about Rick Jones and...wait, that's a perfect description of Rick Jones.

>Is that who the lady is? If so, she doesn't appear to be nearly sassy enough for my taste.

Jen Connelly doesn't even know the meaning of the word "sassy."

Beans would be nice. But this is the modernized, movie Hulk. He has to be hipper, so he probably eats sushi or that Go-Gurt the kids seem to like.

I saw some moving pics of the movie on Access Hollywood or some other stupid entertainment rag tv show and I wasn't the least bit impressed...it made me laugh...but not in a good way. I'm not a huge fan, but I remember The Hulk being scary in green mode when I was a kid.

If he's this big, how do his pants stay on when changes into the Hulk? If you look, they've done away with the really tight blue jeans. And even if he had them, he'd definitely break them off. Since such seems to be the case, where, my friends, does he get his pants. I'm gonna guess it's not your average Big and Tall store.

I figured it out. He is dating a hobbit!

Kids love hobbits! They love mutants! Why not have a movie with mutants and hobbits?

Meh.. I like it and I don't. He reminds me of the comic book version. Which is kind of nice.
Oh and the thing with the pants.... BEHOLD! The miracle of spandex! Or... maybe he carries a couple of pairs. For the times when he feels like a nut... and the times he don't.

After seeing this image a few more times I actually like it quite a bit. I think its well rendered and integrated into the scene, though I know from seeing the trailers that the CGI is far from flawless, I am pretty pleased with the general aethestic of the Hulk himself, anyways, just wanted to chime that in, I'll let you guys get back to Lucas hobbits and Hulk penii (I don't know if penii is the proper plural for penis, but if its not it really should be).

I think he looks awful. That picture looks like it was done in claymation ... gumby on steroids. The trailer is even worse when he picks up the tank and swings it around. I had such high hopes for this movie but alas...

hmmmmmm gotta say I think the hulk looks dodgy - not exactly instilling so much fear my sister used to hide down the hall when he used to be on TV [ok she's easy to scare but still!]

I'm looking forward to seeing how Eric Bana handles being in a major Hollywood action film (although that said he won't be involved in a lot of the action!). I still can only picture him doing skits in a comedy show that used to air here in Australia and the odd 'quirky' Australian film. It's weird to see him being serious actor guy!

Why does anyone like the hulk? Ive read countless Hulk comis trying to unravel the mystery, only to come to one simple conclusion. Hulk is the most unintelligent being in the universe, he is boring, and I still cant figure out his appeal. Hulk smash? who cares? well besides you.

I agree with notmyself,iv'e been a Marvel zombie since age 4 and the Hulk has always been on the bottom of the new issue pile to read.
I like him in the Defenders, when there actually is a Defenders, but alone he's sort of boring.
Not even sort of...

You must have skipped the 10-year Peter David run, or the current Bruce Jones stuff. You can't see his appeal? Not a big "Jekyll and Hyde" fan, hmm?

Wait til our Comics 101 take on the Hulk, around the time the movie comes out. That'll win you over.

Actually I did read some of the Bruce Jones issues, and while I think Banner has his moments, its not enough to keep me interested. Maybe Jones should take the hulk down to oz and get him a brain. Hulk is simple. He is a simple charater for simple minds.

Thank you for your support. I also like the defenders, but Hulk is far too weal to carry his own series, at least in my eyes.

>Hulk is simple. He is a simple charater for simple minds.

As I say, you've obviously never read the 10+ year Peter David run, but to each their own. But before insulting fans of the book and calling them simple, you might want to spell-check your post and at least spell the word "character" right--seems like a "simple" word to spell correctly.

He's bigger than The Jolly Green Giant on steriods. (The people who came up with the concept of the HULK the size of Godzilla must have been higher than a girraf on stilts!! /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif )
It looks good though and I'm definently gonna see it the first day, but I've only read The Ultimates and Ultimate Marvel Team-Ups with the HULK. I hope that comix 101 does an article on the history and story or whatever.

concerning the pants issue he obviously stole them from some really fat guy when he changed into the hulk.
Maybe the hulk is really his inner homo self coming out of the closet cause he always tends to go for the XXXXXXL purple pants. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif
So as far as him being so much bigger than big that's cause he gets bigger as far as how pissed off he is or something right>?

They were sweatpants. I made sense of it because maybe they stretched too far when he Hulked-out so big. They stayed on when he was the smaller Hulk, but stretched out when he got too big. Maybe I'm reaching. But they do make the pants in Kalamazoo, but down the road at the Bell's brewery where they make the best beer in the world!
