I don't post much on this part of the boards, even though I read *almost* everything on the site. From Critical Mess, to One Hand Clapping and Game On, from Toy Box to Forest of Dead Trees and Hollywood Elsewhere (Not to mention the AWESOME DVD Diatribe, Nocturnal Admissions, or The Bottom of Things).

Howeever, the column I enjoy the most has got to be Kentucky Fried Rasslin'. When I read it, I real feel the love the author has of the business, even though I quit as a wrestling fan sometime around the third shitty pay-per-view in 1999 or 2000. (There was a lot of that going on then).

Something about the way Bowden writes just gets through to me- I love when the "Just Posted" icon pops up by the column's name (damn those inconsistent "Just Posted"'s!) because I know I will get something with an insider's perspective and real emotion and heart.

I hope this isn't coming off as too much of a love letter, I just think the topic of wrestling is underrepresented at the other board, considering this great column we have. Hell, I don't even WATCH wrestling and IMHO this is the best read on the site.

Kudos, man!

I agree--I'm no big wrestling fan by any means, but Bowden completely holds my attention every week. I told him I especially love the stories of his work as a manager back in the day. We're trying to fingure out a way to digitize and post some of his old tapes, too--they're friggin' hilarious.

>(damn those inconsistent "Just Posted"'s!)

What do you find inconsistent about them? Just curious--I put one on every column when the teaser goes on the home page, and usually leave them on until 4 or 5 that day.

Yeah, and I didn't really have any huge desire to do wrestling on the site, because I'm afraid of us stretching too thin and trying to cover too much. So I'm glad to have probably the best wrestling column on the Net--if we're gonna cover it, we may as well have a solid, unique take on something that many other sites cover in more depth.

Thanks for the words, man.

In terms of the "just posteds"-

I guess I check the site pretty often and sometimes the teaser copy will be different that I remember, and I won't remember seeing the "just posted". Maybe it's just a brainfart situation on my part.

KFR is a great article, I'm not into wrestling much myself but my friend is, I watch some of the events he has and they are sometimes impressive feats, or just humourous stories. I'd say Bowden is about as in depth if not moreso than other wrestling forums since he was in the biz and has seen alot happen. Ryall you guys are lucky to have him cause he could probably just as easily write a biography on the sights he has experienced.
