Yo-

I write the anime news column Hot Miso here at the 'shoot and I'd like to know what content those of you who read the column would like to see. I'm willing to do more than news, but what do people want? More reviews? Longer reviews? Interviews? Editorials? I can provide a lot, I just don't know what to provide.

Thanks for your input!

Is that the video or the comics?

If you can recommend good movies great! I've not found to many anime videos that I've liked.

Akira - odd how a movie which gave me a headache could bore me to tears- loved the comic though.

Ghost in the Shell - eh it was okay.

Princess Mononoke is the best I've seen so far, but I wouldn't say it was spectacular.

Maybe I'm not your target audience.

Interviews would be nice, voice actors like Amanda Winn Lee and her Husband Jason (not "that" jason lee all those unaware.) or James Flinders. Reviews are quite alright as they are, I guess you could review the in/action figure memorabilia as well sometimes, maybe thats not a good idea, just basically Go for it with the Manga and anime, and lastly if you want to, Review old anime once in a while, And I'm not talking like neon genesis here, I mean stuff like patlabor, Devilman, City hunter, Crying freeman etc, you get me. Well those are just suggestions hope I have helped.

I think you're doing great so far.

More recommendations, longer reviews, and editorials would be awesome. I'd be down for a "Bash the Magical Girl genre" too. Can't get enough of people making fun of catgirls.

So far I like Hot Miso.
That and most of the other colums on the 'Shoot.
Maybe you can do a piece on "Serial Experiments: Lain"?
Hey, and a piece on the social phenomena relating to salrymen and others reading porn manga on the train to and from work? Kinda strange...

I think that Akira was actually pretty easy for the Japanese audience to understand (well, the comic had been running there for about five years) but for the typical American who is not familiar with anime, the apocalypse, or science fiction may find it very hard to follow. /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif
I think the most confusing anime I've seen was Serial Experiments Lain. In order to understand that the first time through....you'd probably have to be on drugs.
No offense to all of you people out their who DO know what's happening every episode, so your keen understanding of the subject probably means that you're very coherent. I dunno... I thought that THE END OF EVANGELION /forums/images/icons/confused.gif was very confusing the first time I saw it. Although I didn't get what was happening most of the second half of the film, I knew what most of the emotional faits characters actually meant. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

I didn't get it when I was tried watching a sub at 1:00 in the morning, I was about 15 at the time. But then it made more sense second time when I watched the dub (the original bad dub with leonardo/liquid snake voice as kaneda.) Evangelion, I cant remember the Film all too well just asukas kickass fighting scenes and etc, I just remember the series vaguely so I should rewatch it except the last few episodes, I remember wanting to cry cause the series was at an end whilst simultaneously holding my head cause my brain was on confused overload. The Death/rebirth dvd is just a big cash in, basically if you have he 26 episodes and the end of film, dont bother with Death/rebirth.
