I love love how they keep me in suspense even if I have watched them 50 billion times. They just rock. By far my favorite one is the second one. And I think the third one is way better than the first one, just because I thought they totally kept it in perspective with how the termnator series goes. It's good to see Summer Glau on screen again, and the trailer looks pretty slick.
I'm a pretty big fan of all three of the movies (what with my Arnie obsession an' all) so I'll give it a go.

It was scientifically proven that anyone who doesn't like T2 is a homo. You can't argue with science.

I can't comment on the Sarah Connor Chronicles. I don't let myself get my hopes up about something so important as a Terminator sequel/prequel/whatever. It just would be too much if it was a let-down.

As for T3, there were some serious problems, but the aesthetic appeal of the view from outer space with the missiles firing and the chaos, that brought a tear to my eye.

As for anyone who thinks T2 was bleh, you need to get your head checked. That was in my estimation one of the greatest cinematic achievements of all-time.

Additionally, I think the acting in the first movie was less scripted--Smurfy, I think that gave it its riveting-ness--its appeal, its genuine keeps-you-coming-back kinda suspense. T2 is the glossed version--not as suspenseful, more action-packed and less plot-driven, I think, but equally kickass in its own right.

And finally, I wholeheartedly back this thread and the perpetuation of it and others promoting Terminator-related topics.

For my part, I turn to T2 as a source of inspiration in difficult times, not to mention as a way to help me go to sleep when sleep just won't come. It gives me what the Eagles coined that "peaceful, easy feeling". I'm glad this thread was created, because I get my chance to publicly say "thank you".
