Does Game On have an archive so we can see previous reviews?

Yep just scroll down to the bottom of the current article and hit the archives button.

Yeah, the only problem is, most of the games reviewed have already been out for weeks by the time Ian reviewes them. I'm no flamer, or troll, and I realize that writing a column for very little (or probably zero) money is a bitch. And I love the Poopshoots' content. But dude, every game reviewed in Game On has already been reviewed 10 other places by the time it hits the Shoot. I read reviews to see if the game is worth buying, not to hear one person's opinion on a game he rented for a weekend a month after it came out. Sorry, this is coming off like I'm trying to be a dick, when I was aiming for constructive criticism. /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

The problem with this is a lot of video game companies are pretty stingy with advance copies of their games. They'll send them to some print pubs, but beyond that, they're not that easy to get. He has gotten a couple though, so hopefully that's the start of things. I mean, if friggin' MAXIM can get advance copies, I don't see why we can't.

Wait, companies actually send their games to Maxim? Sure, its a guys magazine and all, but their reviews are usually one paragraph that sets up a lame joke.

Their other reviews usually say something like, "Well, the game is actually a souped up DVD menu, there's one level, and the programers couldn't implement interactivity or use of the controller given the time constraints. But it has guns and boobs, so the game gets an 11!!! Its worth every penny of its $70 price tag."

Well, i'm trying to review them within the week of their release (such as this week's with Midnight Club II). For the most part, my past reviews have all been roughly around the time they shipped to stores. If a game is older than 2 weeks, then i probably won't review it. The fact of the matter is, I get games the same time you all do, and I can ony review them when i get them, not before. And while some game companies are sending me free copies, they won't send them eary, just the same time they ship to stores. As such, you're stuck with what you get.

Other than the "timliness" of my reviews, how would you (or anyone else reading this) like to improve my column? I'm open to suggestions here...

I have a suggestion
No offense dude, but if I read another unbiased review, I'll cry
I mean, yeah review a game, put your heart into it but then give us your take on a few news slots that are flying round.
Like you said, you get games pretty much the same time as we do, so youre not telling us anything we couldnt find out ourselves.
Instead give us some opinionated scrawlings
Dont like the poor showing of beat-em-ups on the PS2? A console which used to be inundated with them in its psx incarnation. Tell me about it
I mean, a review can be gotten anywere, a real voice is something worth note
